Default Pushup Rows?

one of my friends who I was lifting with today mentioned a type of pushup he saw in Mens Health (insert lame joke here), but it seems like a REALLY good exercise.

Basically, you grab two light DB's, and do pushups off of them, shoulder width or so on the floor, and when you come up, you ROW one DB up and back down and do another pushup and row the other DB. Probably not that bad w/ hex DB's, but with round ones, talk about balance and stablizers!!! Trying these out next tuesday

I've seen these done before but I never had any desire to do them. Seem kinda pointless imo... maybe as a shock type exercise but I defeniately wouldn't make it a central exercise.

I agree... you can probably hit the chest better with bench press, or flys, and definatly hit lats better doing bent rows, or one arm dumbell rows.. or cable rows etc.

It sounds like something that would be good for someone who was looking to say fit, and save time, but not useful for bodybuilding, or powerlifting...

this is true, seems more like conditioning or so.

lol

but for real, those kinds of moves are for college students to get "cut" and all that bullshit. It does nothing for an intermediate or advanced lifter other than possible rehab and senselessly burning kcals. It's exhausting.

word, the kid doing it wants to get cut, and big, yet he doesn't do anything to be either. His arms look good though. Oh and my calves are bigger then his thighs
