Default Leg Exercises besides Squats and Deadlifts any good??

All i seem to hear is that Squats and Deadlifts are the king of leg exercises. I am not disagreeing, they are very very very good exercises.

However, as for the moment, my equipment limits very heavy squatting atm. so i was wondering what are good alternatives?

Do you think mountain climbers, burpees, walking lunges, dumbbell squats, calf raises, dumbbell step-ups, dumbbell squat jumps, lying ham curl etc are good exercises?

I want to try and do alot of different exercises, are they any good for strength development, size gains, athletic improvement??

thanks in advance

I'm kinda in the same situation. I can't go heavy on squats because I don't have a squat rack. These are some good ones:

Deadlift (All Stances)
Lunges (BB or DB)
Bulgarian Split Squat (BB or DB)
Good Mornings (All Variations)
One Legged Squats (BB or DB)

Some more but I can't remember.

They're good in conditioning workouts. I normally do bodyweight circuits with them and other exercises like jumping jacks, split shuffles and slalom jumps with short rest interval times for conditioning work.

dumbell lunges, IMO are just as effective as barbell squats.

Bump to the glute-ham hypers. They are wicked.

There is no way in hell i would ever mean to say lunges of any sort compete with the squat.

Beside regular squats and regular deads huh.....Leg Press, DB Lunges, BB Lunges, Hack squat, Sumo squats, Front squats, RDL's, SLDL's, Sumo deads, DB step ups.... alternate between these and you'll have great legs!

dunno what you have access to, but Karlsen squats worked well for me....basically you use a hack squat, but turn around to face the machine
