I do all the basic leg extensions and presses on my weider machine, and my legs are starting to get a lot of separation in them.
I like the idea of trying some db squats though.

Leg Press - Yes it works well for me. Always has and always will. Go deep, go long, go hard.
Hamstring Curls
DB Squat
Calf Raises (love those things, especially the killer machine)
