| Soldier In Progress | Front squats and hack squats are the only squat variation I do, and I go calves to hams. Or, as deep as I can friggen get. Feels alot better on my knees after a heavy day too.

| Pro Stature | if going to parallel is level 5, and ATG level 10, then I go between 7-8. I lose form when I go ATG but my hips are getting more flexible from every workout so in a while i will be able to do it

| New Member | Depends on the weight I'm using, If I'm over 225 I really don't like to put my back through going ATG. I'll go just parallel. but warmups are always atg... Hey mivi, nice to see you over here... You do have some serious 20rep squats!!! ![]()

| New Member | ATG, only way to squat all the pussies at my gym either use the smith machine, or just go 1/4 of the way down (with a bench underneath just incase their legs give out even though they are using a weight they could do 100reps on) |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 29 | i just go to parallel and that's it. If i go below that than i start to feel it in my lower back, hips, and knees too much.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I was doing ATG for a while, and it was great for my knees...but, when I wrapped and just went to parallel....OMFG it was a diff world. My hams and glutes got so trashed (obviously they were weak) it was ridiculous.... I think I'm going to incorporate ATG and parallel squats as two of my three leg workouts (third hacks). ![]() Last edited by kwyckemynd00 : 04-03-2005 at 05:41 AM. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | I don't like to take a wide stance because that takes too much emphasis away from the quads. I like a normal stance and do full squats. The reason I hate the Smith Machine for squats is that it basically forces you to use bad form. If you are squatting and using good form, the bar does not move in a perfectly straight vertical line. The Smith Machine forces you to go in a straight line and your chances of injuring your back are higher. I do my 20 reppers at the power rack. |
