Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 113 | Okay, so I had my first injury two weeks ago. I'm cutting, but I got really pumped up from a song I had blasting, and I decided to pull a weight I regularly do during the mass season.... needless to say... i crossed my limitations and torqued something in my lower back during the pull. Anyway, it has gotten better in the last two weeks, and I tried training it lightly to see where I was at. I did some light sets of SLDLs at about 25% of my max for sets of 15. It was bothering the injury, so I decided to change my form. I placed the barbell behind my ankles and deadlifted from there. It was kind of like a hack squat, but it was a deadlift. It took all the pressure off my lower back and allowed my to lift heavy again. I guess my question here is: What exercise did I do? Was is a hacksquat/deadlift combonation? I basically just deadlifted, but it was with the barbell behind me... rubbing against my calves on the way up instead of my shins. Whatever it was... my back is awsomely sore today, and I feel as though I engaged my quads much more doing this move.

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | A hack squat machine doesn't do anything for your back, it is a straight leg exercise, almost like a squat machine at an angle.

| Amateur | I tried doing Hacks, but the bar would slam into my hamstrings. This caused me to fall backwards on my butt a few times. I decided this wasn't the best lift for me. ![]() |

Metallica: Master but it's the place I lift that puts me in the zone. Where I do my heavy work is called "The Dungeon." Only myself and a few others use it, and it's just a dark musty room walled on two sides with mirrors and huge amp speakers in each corner.... needless to say... it's a hardcore place to lift... and it just gets me going.
