Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 15 | This is the Donky calf raise, it looks gay, but it works.. (looks really gay) http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...CalfRaise.html Here are some others http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...CalfRaise.html http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...CalfRaise.html I still think the barbell raise is your bread and butter calf movement though, if I was only going to do one, it would be it.

| Nublarsaurusrex | When your doing your calf raises be sure to use a board of some sort to get the full extended range of motion.

^^ Also seated calf rasies. I can imagine you can try to sit on a bench and then unrack the weight from the power rack and start doing them with a barbell. Never tried it, but seems like it would work; may need a towel for padding though...

For a while, I did use a weight belt for standing calf raises on a platform I built. I used the weight belt so I could stablize myself for a very wide range of motion that was difficult to keep my ballance. There isn't anything wrong with experimenting, as long as you do it safely. -IMO Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Hi, Thanks for the replies! I am using s 2X4 for the added range of motion. You definitely need the towel for the seated claf raises. That barbell dug into my knees without it. I'll have to try some of those new exercises! Thanks! Aaron :bigthumbu |
