Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | I wonder sometimes if I am doing enough in the gym. I will be honest I leave it all there everyday, but maybe I could do it differently. I read somewhere on here that some people respond to higher reps. I kicked my normal 8-10 reps up to 15 and saw great results. I am in a bulking cycle right now though so I am back to 3 x 8-10. I am putting up PRs every week and my gains seem to be coming along. I am not gaining a ton of weight but that may be due to a lapse in my diet there for a week. I do 6 exercises each day 3 x 8-10 each. I progress up in weight on the 3 sets ending with a PR on the last set lately. All that takes a full hour and a half. I can’t really spend much more time in the gym, due to work and family stuff. How do you guys do 5x5s and not spend 2 or more hours in the gym? I don’t think I am slow, I rest just enough to put my full effort into each lift. Maybe I am wrong there but my goal is not to burn, but to build. I tried doing 4 sets, and I couldn’t get out of the gym in less than 2 hours. 5 reps seems so short… help me clear this up.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 114 | 5X5 is an intensity program which also obtains a fair amount of volume. 5X5, IMO is something you want to do for your big 1,2 or 3 moves. Everything else is simply accessory work, which you can hit with greater volume or speed, depending on your split and goals. Is also seems like you have been doing a sort of periodization by accident. Your growth is taking place when you switch up your ranges. Just make sure you are beating ur book and cycling through ranges. I know I don't really do more than 3 moves/day. That is only 15 sets.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I would suggest focusing on what works for 'you' if you are growing dont fix it! because its not broke, some people could'nt or would'nt train with the amount of volume 'sets' I use in a workout others do, I love! and grow best with high volume like 20plus sets for chest up 15 for tri's my workouts last 2 hours, to some that may be overtraining but I have always grown from it, and I'am natural also. |

| Pro Stature | I never spend more than an hour in the gym even when doing 5x5 plus a few iso exercises 3 days a week. i probably only spend 45 min in the gym for 19-20 sets |
