| IMPC Contestant | IMO your back looks a little bit too rounded. Almost squat the weight up and down, and then pull straight back with your back, if you get my drift. Keep your back straight as a board. You need to bend down a bit more with your knees.

You are leaning way to far forward. One good indicator that your doing them wrong is the fact that you are wearing shorts..lol When you do them right if you wear shorts you will not have any skin left on your shins. You need to keep your upper body closer to horizontal, you want to bend the knees more, and drop your ass lower.. this will happen automaticly when you keep your upper body closer to the horizontal position...

Yep... And the shorts comment.. when you deadlift properly you pretty much drag the bar up the front of your body, or you come as close as possible.. It is inevitable that you will gash your shins. Most people, me included wear long pants while doing shrugs.. If you ever watch a powerlifting competition they use a wire brush to clean the bar between lifters. they use it to scrape the chunks of skin that are sometimes left behind on the bar...

| is missing heavy pulls | yea you need to get your hips down and keep them down your legs shouldnt be straigt till the bar is past your knees. You should use your hips to lock out the weight

| IMPC Contestant | its not a traditional deadlift its like a stiff-leg dead/normal deadlift combo, pretty common. looks like your half-way inbetween. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 116 | Looks a lot like mine. Do you normally do 8 rep sets? Cause i like using them as more of a power move. Less reps, more weight, more explosive. I step away and reload between reps.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | Holy shit man, you might **** up your back like that. When i started working out a trainer got me into deadlifts, and after the first workout my shins were both bleeding and bruised lol, he reminded me to wear cotton pants next time. You have to squat the **** down man, get your ass low, like your doing a ATG squat, and look forward when you do it, record another vid and we will help you again :boink1:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 15 | There is a vid link at the bottom of the description (within the link provided). The camera angle is from the front, but you can still see the angle of his back and how far he squats with his legs. It works best if you watch the vid in a continuous loop. WindowsMediaPlayer will do this. http://strengthtraining.asimba.com/f...ercise576.html

| Going Pro BBer in '08-'09 | I watched this and wondered how you could possibly have the knees bent just a little and still have a nearly-flat back... You're doing them without shoes, which does change things quite a bit. That puts the bar nearly one inch higher up relative to your body than most usually have with exercise shoes. Not that this is wrong per se, but it changes the dynamics of the lift. This makes me think I'll wear something lower than the skateboard shoes I usually wear on deadlift day. That just might be the reason why I'm not finding my deadlifting groove...
