welcome to the forum, aqua, thanks for the compliment !

i want to do TBar rows but my gym doesn't have a setup for it and they discourage people from doing them in corners alone after 3 mirrors were broken from the bar slipping.

I work out solely at home, but I bought one of those tbar row brackets, and attached it to my power rack base. I think it was like $50 or so... shame your gym wouldn't invest in one.
I've actually been a member here for a while, but due to unfamiliar faces, have not been posting much. Now that all the "regulars" are starting to join up, we need to crank things up around here.

one should note as well:

rosin is ok for a commercial gym, but don't expect it to be a chalk replacement.

start doing progressive pulls.but be safe about it cuz you need heavy weights. if you dont know about progressive pulls you start with power cleans add ## do high pulls add## do rows add## do deadlifts. simple. nothing will pack the mass on your back like these will.

I think BB rows are the best rowing exercise for your back for gaining mass. If you struggle with form, simply drop the weight to a point where you can do it perfect and work there for a while to get it down, then slowly progress upward in weight. That's what I'm in the middle of doing right now. Everyone struggles with it a bit at first, but don't completely throw them out the window, they're way too advantageous. T-Bar rows never did much for me. However, T-Bar rows where your chest is supported are great.

imo a good back is built by pullups or deadlifts.

Same here, that's why I said BB rows are the best rowing exercise for your back.

technically speaking a pullup/chinup is a row. pulling towards yourself is a row.

if you REALLY want to get technical, snatch grip deadlifts, or some powercleans or snatchs.

nothing builds a strong back like pulling heavy weights overhead and holdin them there =D

i wasn't getting technical ROM, i was just making a point that a deadlift only back routine will build a natural lifter's back as big, thick and wide as any other exercise/ combination thereof

Personally, as a bodybuilder, rows in general are necessary for a good back. Whether it be barbells or dumbbells. Also dont underestimate cable rows
