Default question about cardio and weights

This is what my trainer has me doing, this is a lower body day, and I am just concerned that I am not doing enough weights wise and also the cardio is taking away from me being able to lift intensely I feel, How does this look, is this normal? He says he does it this way to keep my metabolism boosted but wouldn't lots of weights do that? Now I am lifting heavy for me when I do weights, I just wonder if this enough, I still have 35-45lbs to lose and I Want it gone!

7 min on the crosstrainer as a warmup

leg press 12 reps @ 80k
12 reps @ 120k

another 7 min on the crosstrainer

hovers on a ball 1 x 40 sec

machine squats 8 reps @ 80k
500 meter row
ham curls 12 reps @ 30k

leg press 12 reps @ 120k

5 min on the crosstrainer

Thanks,
Tea

Meh..I don't like it. I don't see the point of going back and forth between cardio and lifting. Seems like a waste of both. I like to hear his theory behind doing it that way. Personally I think you should avoid cardio period on leg day beyond a short 5 min warm-up to get the blood in the muscles.
