| Pro Stature | lol GDD nah we worked on it the other day, and i only had like 4 more questions to do, and i finished those within like 5 mins (thats the good thing about being smart!!!!!) but to be honest, i think i really do have it bad bc uhhh this board and ironmagazine.com are like the only two sites i visit ever! I'll be online for like 4 hours just at these boards lol....it's kind of sad actually! oh well....won't be sad when i have the hottest body in my school eh???? yeah that would be great

Their usually longer than they need to be... I try to create routines with 4-6 exercyses per bodypart, thus keeping my total workout time with 90 minutes... Most fullbody routines have sooo many exercyses in them that folks are working out for 2 1/2 hours and overloading their central nervous systems... & you seem lyke the type that hits the weights hard... Maximum intensity for a long period of tyme is just stressful... and stress is counterproductive.. Next, you're on a lower calorie diet... thus less energy from food to fuel your workout... My number one concern with full body workouts is just the ability t overload the muscle enough to make it grow... for example - Monday: Bench - 10 8 6 4 Military Press 10 8 8 6 CG bench 10 8 8 6 DB Curls 10 8 8 6 (each arm) Bent over rows 10 8 6 4 Deadlift 10 8 6 4 Squats 10 8 6 4 - (I would never do squats last!! Make them the fyrst thyng on Thursday..) Thys workout has, with squats included - 28 sets... But your old focused Back day included - 17 sets... Monday – Back & Abs Bent over Rows – 10, 8, 6, 4 T-Bar Rows – 10, 8, 6 CG Cables – 10, 8, 8 - (Are these rows or pulldowns or an ab exercyse?) DL w/ Shrug – 10, 8, 6, 4 Good Morning – 10, 8, 6 I could shorten thys even more by making it a back/bicep workout. T-Bar Rows, Deadlyfts, Bent Over Rows, DB Hammer Curls. Finally, I'm not gotta try to change everythyng about the way you work out.. but I'm not a believer in pyramid or reverse pyramid weight programs... I just do 3 sets of 8... I was experimenting with routines and decyded to do 2 sets of 8... and I was seeing growth... Get 2 sets of 8 & raise the weight... Needless to say I was lyfting heavy (with proper form), in no tyme... Then I decyded to add a 3rd set... and it was heaven for me... Now when I see guys do a set & add weight, do another set & add weight, do another set & add weight.. I just shake my head... If you know you can lyft 100 pounds... why bother lyfting 60 pounds, then 80 pounds, then 90 pounds, then 100.. (With the exception of warming up... then my warmup sets would be 2 sets of 8 at 60) ... Just lyft heavy... If I asked you to ryde your bike to the store.. would you ryde all the way to the store & come back.. or would you ryde 1/4 way and come back, then go 1/2 way & come back, then 3/4 way & come back, then go to the store & come back?? I just thynk it makes your workouts more efficient.. ![]() Ok, I just gave you somethyng else to thynk about whyle u're in school... hehehe.. Take Care!!! Peace..~G

| Pro Stature | Hey GDD, i do agree with you on FBW, they are very very longer, longer than need be, that is the only reason i can think of right now as to why i actually do hate them, but i'm going with one right now just until i get into the swing of things with school, as right now i'm spending about 3-4 hours a night doing homework!! i get off work at around 6:30, come home eat, then get to hw, i'm not finished with it all until probably aroun 10-10:30, so i don't no what i'm going to do, sure getting up at 6 is an option but then i would be deprived of sleep, seeing as how after my homework it takes me about 1 hr to complete other task (prepare food for next day, shower, clean, and then get in the bed) so i go to sleep between 11-12. Getting up at 6 would 1) deprive me of sleep and 2) hurt my school work.....so again I DON'T KNOW lol...Curse who ever came up with AP classes!!! really ugh! anyways off to my trig class now, god i love math, literally, only part of the day (and well accounting) that i look forward too, i love numbers lol!!!!!

Keep up the hard work, it will pay off in the end. Don't worry so much about doing everything perfect in the gym right now, you will find that just eating right is going to get you 90% of the way. Just do some form of exercise and get your heartrate up for 4-90 minutes. You should be good to go. | |

Full Body Fat Loss by Joel Marion basically, if you dont wanna read the link...ill explain it... its a 4 workout per week routine with 2 of those days being strength based workouts ( heavy weights/ low reps) and 2 of them being metabolic/fat loss workouts ( lighter weights/Higher reps).... you are bascially at liberty to decide what days you workout, as long as you do not work out 3 days in a row... you choose ONE exercise from each of the following...Upper body Push...Upper body Pull...Lower body Quad dominant....and Lower body Hip/Hamstring dominant.... on the upper body push/pull Joel alternates between Horizontal and Verticle....depending on what day you are on... basically it looks like this: Day 1: strength emphasis A1: upper body push ( verticle) A2: lower body quad B1: upper body pull ( verticle) B2: lower body hip superset a1-a2 with 60 sec rest in between each until all 3x5 are completed for both...and then move on to B1 and B2 and do the same thing Day 2: metabolic emphasis A1: upper body push (horizontal) A2: lower body quad A3: upper body pull ( horizontal) A4: lower body hip on metabolic day you superset the entire workout A1-A4 with only 30 sec in between each exercise for the 3 sets of 12 for each (HELL DAY^^^^^^seriously these days KILLED ME) Day 3: strength emphasis...same as day 1 but with the horizontal Day 4: metabolic emphasis...same as day 2 but with the verticle you may not support full body routines dawg...and thats ok...but from my personal experience i have discovered that this is a great full body routine...the mixing of both strength oriented and metabolic oriented days allows you to maintain ( or even gain) strength WHILE dropping bodyfat. i honestly think Joel nailed it on this one...its a good routine for someone who wants to lose fat and gain strength and who doesnt have LOADS of time to spend in the gym. | |

Whew, that was tough.. & I'd be thynkin'... what in the hell is she talkin' about... ![]() Either way.. yeah, I'll have to agree to disagree on thys one as I'm a believer that heavy weights is all you need... Lyfting light weights for high reps is basically the same as people "toning" in my eyes... Heavy weights build muscle... muscle raises your metabolism... higher metabolism burns fat... Thus, it all comes down to your nutritional intake ... If you are eating above or below maintenance... you will gain or lose weight... It's possible to gain muscle & lose fat whyle lyfting heavy... The only thyng I'll agree with on that workout is the rest periods... People spend too long bs'ing in the gym or during their workouts... I'm alwayz preaching for people to get a tymer.. However, for a person moving heavy weights and trying to get muscle growth, I thynk the rest tyme should be 90 seconds to 2 minutes .. max... Of course I take 3:30 on deadlyfts and squats.. but not 60 seconds... unless, heaven forbid, I actually did some ab work... then I would take 60 seconds.. *D Peace..~G
