Default Lose BF in 30 days

I have my grad pics coming up and I'd wanna get down to about 19 or 20% BF for that pic. Right now I am at 24% BF.

I do boxing 2-3 times a week and weights 3-4 times a week.

I'd wanna look leaner for the pics cos we got full body shots and a couple of candid shots as well so yeah. Will diuretics help at around the week before/the week of the shoot ??

Thanks

Diurectics won't change your bodyfat. You'll need to get your diet in order if you want to reduce bf.

I think she's asking if, in addition to working to lower her bodyfat between now and the shoot, if using a diuretic product the week of the shoot will help her to look better in her pictures.

It's true that using a product to help you drop water will do nothing to lower your actual bodyfat, but it could, potentially help you look better on photo day.

One important thing to remember is that any look created by dropping water is only temporary. Your body will quickly rehydrate itself when given the first opportunity. So, you should never consider any water loss product to be any kind of long term solution for weight loss, nor should it be part of your weight loss strategy.

Furthermore, a water loss product will not make you look better unless your bodyfat is already significantly low. If you have too much bodyfat, especially subcutaneous bodyfat ( between the skin and your muscle ) dropping water will do little to improve your appearance.

However, if you get your bodyfat down pretty low, with sound diet and exercise techniques, a mild herbal diuretic such as Taraxatone or Expel can help give you an even tighter look for about a day or so.

I would not be telling the whole truth if I simply said that herbal diuretics would do nothing to help you look better.

But, I can't stress enough that this will only help you look better if you have already done the work with your nutrition and training ahead of time.

Please don't think that simply using a supplement to help you drop water the week of the shoot is going to give you the look you are looking for, if you haven't already done the work.

Always use any diuretic product with caution, follow the directions, and never exceed the recommended dose.

EME nailed it, of course!

from personal experience i can add that going very low carb the week or two before the pictures will also help....at least this has been MY experience...and again...its only temporary...as soon as you reintroduce the carbs your body will rehydrate.

Yup, I understand that it's temporary only.

Thanks

Cool Be Careful..

I just wanted to pitch in $.02 as well and say be careful if you consider going thys route..

I've never used them, but I remember a bodybuilder's death was blamed on them...

"In 1985 professional bodybuilder Mohammed "Momo" Benazziza fell dead after winning a Grand Prix, the cause of death was believed to be his pre-contest use of the diuretic Lasix."

That kynda scared me away from diuretics as a whole... I was 12 then and styll remember it.

Peace..~G

GDD, you are certainly correct about prescription diuretics.. but there is a HUGE difference between herbal OTC diuretics and prescription diuretics like the ones that contributed to Bennazziza's death.

Comparing the two is similar to comparing baby aspirin and Morphine.

Herbal diuretics use plant extracts juch as Dandelion Root, Ursi Ursi, Green Tea, and Herba Mate to promote a mild, controlled diuretic effect on the body.

Prescription diuretics such as Lasix are powerful syntheic drugs that elicit a much greater water dropping response.

Furthermore, the bodybuilders, and others, who have experienced life threatening problems from prescription diuretics, admittedly used high doses combined them with other dangerous techniches to achieve a rediculously dry condition.

Herbal diuretics are perfectly safe when used according to the directions, and when used occasionally.

I certainly don't want to play down the need to be careful with any diuretic product. You are right in voicing a concern. But, supplements such as Taraxatone, Watershed, Expel, etc.. are much, much different than the drugs that caused Benazziza's death.
