Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | Earlier discussion brought up some issues for me. This is a picture of me at about 19 when I was in the Army and in the best shape of my life, to date: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...BFLundies1.jpg As you can see, still had a lot of fat and while I was happier for certain, I poured blood, sweat and tears into getting from 197 to 150 (that picture is in the high 150s) and I was disappointed with the results. My body fat was average - somewhere between 24 and 27%. (And I got called "fatass" at least 5 times a week by my platoon sergeant - awesome!) Here's a picture from last year around this time at my highest weight: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...50425front.jpg And here's me having lost 35 pounds in 11 months (slow going? I had surgery on my tonsils but that only accounts for a few weeks): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...60402Front.jpg I have this deep-seated fear that no matter how hard I try, I'll never look better than I did in the first picture. I know it is completely irrational - this time I'm much better with my diet (and not surrounded by Army binge eaters/drinkers) and more dedicated to sculpting rather than losing and willing to learn about supplementation. And the first picture isn't so bad, either, but it's just average. For the amount of time I did/will spend working on my body, I really feel that I ought to look *better* than average. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 34 | I think it is great you are sharing your pics and story here. I think you are definitely motivated and going in the right direction! Congrats on the loss so fat and I'm looking forward to seeing you in the IMPC and following your progress!! I am sure you will make an amazing transformation and look even better than in the past. As you said, you are older and wiser and in a better environment - plus you will have folks here on the boards following you and encouraging you along the way! I never thought I could do it either and even though I am not at goal yet, I look and feel better at 31 than I ever did at 19 - I think you will too!! ![]()
