Default Temporomandibular Joint Misalignment And Shoulder Exercises?

Well,
Yesterday was my shoulder day. It was a very intense workout. This morning when I got up, I noticed that my shoulder muscles were really tight :bb:. I started eating breakfast and all of a sudden my left temporomandibular joint (joint where your lower jaw connects to your skull) started crackling. It didn't hurt, but it freaked my out. The cracking has stopped, but I think my jaw is now out of alignment. When I put my finger on each joint (right in front of your ear) and move my jaw up and down, my left side has a bone that bulges in and out when I move my jaw. The right side is smoothe with nothing popping out. I think this may have to do with the tight shoulder muscles pulling on my neck muscles causing the joint to become misaligned. I am going to try and loosen up my shoulders and neck and see if it goes back to normal...if not, I will have to go to the doctor, yipee!

Has anyone else experienced this?

-Aaron

YOu may have a condition known as a subluxing temporomandibular joint (TMJ). It cam move and catch the meniscus (cartilage) and cause clunking and/or muscle spasm. Can be associated with poor posture and/or tight muscles and/or problems with teeth or your bite. If it becomes a problem, treatment with a splint on the teeth is very successful.
