Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 98 | I thought instead of posting an article I'd ask everyone to share their ideas here. :bigthumbu Sleeping is important to help you recover your emotional, mental and of course physical state. And during this time your body heals from the exercise and stress put on it in the gym. In general we should have 7 or 8 hours of sleep a day. But I know there are members who have trouble getting their optimal amount of sleep in. :slapen: What are your suggestions for getting a good night's rest? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 75 | I have alot of trouble getting to sleep.. mine is not just typical insomnia... but it is because I am bi-polar.. and a symptom of that is insomnia.. I have not figured out a good way to get to sleep each night.. sometimes a nice hot shower will work.. sometimes I read, sometimes I just lay in bed until I fall asleep.. I also try relaxation techniques...but they dont always work.. So if anyone else has some other ideas.. I would love to hear them.. I usually only get about 4 hours of sleep each night.. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 15 | It's good to stay consistant with your bed time and awake time. Make sure to have bright lights on and around you first thing in the morning. ( :o I think too much some nights, so it doesn't always work for me either.) Bi-Polar sucks PJ! I have family members with it, and I have suspected it may be a trouble of mine too. No diagnosis for me though because I don't have money for a doctor's opinion.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 75 | Yes it does Vegeto... PM me if you want or need to talk... I can give you some info on it.. or even a short test given by therapists.. to give you an idea of where you might be.. it is not a diagnosistic test.. just a test.. but it does help you know where you are ... ![]()

There are 1 mg and 3 mg doses but I've just been using the 1 mg to be conservative. The drawback is I really don't like the way I feel when I wake up though. ![]() | |

I normally take a fat burner in the morning when I wake up to help slough off that drowsy effect.

Speaking of sleep, I had some weird dreams last night, I dreamed my laundry room was full of cobwebs, spiders, and other creapy crawlies. *shivers* It its pretty messy in there, maybe I shoul clean it. But now I'm scared to go in there.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | I have serious sleeping problems too. I am having doubts that I may be suffering from ADD. The symptoms seem to be there and generally there r so many thoughts running through my head that I find it impossible to sleep. When I finally do manage to sleep, it would prolly be somewhere around 3-4 a.m. and I totally feel screwed the following day. I am visiting a doc tomorrow, hopefully I can get this sorted out.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | I have insomnia that comes and goes, so at certain times I will not really ever sleep and other times I have no trouble at all. I have 5mg melatonin pills on hand and I've taken up to 15mg at once. I try to only use it as a last resort and some nights it does not help at all. I find that listening to some relaxing music just before going to bed or even quietly while going to bed can really help.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I've recently had trouble getting more than 6.5 hours sleep.. I just wake up in the morning and don't feel like sleeping anymore.. and what's more, I'm bulking, so I really want to aim for 8-9 hours! This is annoying me cos I know I would feel better if I just got a bit more in. It's only happened recently since I started bulking at 500kcals above maintenance too, is it cos of the raised metabolism or what? Any thoughts? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | Ever try Hypnotherapy?? You don't even have to pick the one's that are for insomnia... You can use them for any reason... I've been into them since high school, back when they were on cassette tapes.. (17 years ago!!) I used them to stop procrastinating... then I procrastinated when it came to listening to it... but I had an auto-reverse cassette player... I'd put my headphones on, press play... listen to the music and fall fast asleep... I last got some for an ex gyrlfriend that wanted to quit smoking... we downloaded it, then burned it onto a regular audio CD... then there were tracks she could listen to whyle driving in the car or sitting around the house surfing the internet, etc. etc. etc. ... & there were other tracks that relaxed you & you were supposed to use headphones to go to sleep.. For the record.. she quit smoking.. & I never procrastinate anymore... I haven't for a long tyme... if I don't do somethyng, it's because I had to place it lower on the priority list... that's not really procrastination, but time management.. which I also had a cassette for... I know... When you say hypnosis.. everyone turns their noses up.. but I'm a believer ... & it's the same way people view herbal pills vs prescription drugs.. Massage therapy vs acupuncture vs aroma therapy... I'll always say it.. - If what you're doing isn't doing it... then it's tyme to try somethyng new.. The fyrst two lynks are places that I've actually ordered from... As a dude, it's nyce to have women talking softly to me as I go to sleep... ![]() http://hypnosis.hyptalk.com/pd_even.cfm - I started at the Deep Sleep page, you can return to the homepage if ya want... http://www.wendi.com/html/insomnia.html - I started at the Deep Sleep page, you can return to the homepage if ya want... ********** I haven't personally ordered from.. but I would consider them... http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/dow...-insomnia.html ... If anyone tries thys... feel free to post and let us know the results... Peace..~G
