Default Knee Issues

what are some exercises i could do for my knee? ive always had knee problems since i was young, when i run or lift hard it starts to hurt alot and even when i dont lift or run it likes to pop alot. when i bend over it sounds like bubble rap sometimes. my dad has the same problem and eventually stopped sports because of it, but im dedicated to becoming a bodybuilder and i dont want this to stop my training so early on. any suggestions? ive never had surgery but would that be a possible option i may need to look into? i know this is hard to answer without more specifics, but im trying to give as much info as i can. it wasnt too as bad as it is now, until yesterday when i was legpressing. i didnt have my neoprene knee brace that ive been wearing since i started lifting again, but i legpressed anyways and i did some really high weight (for myself at least lol) and it popped and so i stopped. then today in jogging class i was doing ins and outs and it started hurting bad but i finished hard anyways and it hasnt stopped hurting since. ive iced in the past and it only offered temporary help, and now i want to fix this long term.

thanks for any help,
hansi

Have you tried visiting a sports therapist? They are experts at problems like yours and would definately give you the best advice as to what to do for your knee. Personally I would give up running and switch to low impact cardio such as ellipitical or cycle. That will make a big difference by itself.

currently i have to just give a 1/2 ass effort for my class so i can pass it, so ill tone it down alot. ive been thinking of visiting one but money is tight, but im sure the school has some people who have that as their major who could look at it for free. but for the time being do you think an ace bandage around the knee while i jog slow would help?

Well any extra support you can provide will be a benifit. Also if you have to run make sure your shoes are really good and you don't land flat footed but impact heel to toe. That will take away a lot of the pounding on your knees. You really have to focus to get it right and your muscles running under your shin's will be burning if you do it right.
