Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 41 | Well at first my mom did not want me taking protein since she thought it caused my acne. She even went as far as bringing the tub of ON's Whey to the Dermatologist and they quickly dispelled that myth that she had. She then trusted me more and allowed me to buy my own supplements.

Recipes: 2 Rep Power: 96 | They never agree, just stick to what you can get. Protein, vitamins, fish oils. The rest isn't needed, but now you have to convince your parents on your diet. ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | I sat down with my mom one night and went through the various studies done on the supplements I was planning on taking and went through it for about an hour with her - The easy way I saw it was to educate about them and their uses/benfits. She wasn't fussed about it but to make sure that she wasn't worring for no reason I went through it with her .Print out those Studies and give you're parents some homework for a night...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 7 | Only thing I hide is creatine and sesathin, since I'm unsure how he would react to them (he probably wouldn't mind, but just in case). Rest of the stuff is fine since my dad is the one who normally gets it for me e.g. multi, fish oils, WPI (I get WPC myself), amino acids, trace minerals etc, since he sells it at his surgery.

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | I had problems with creatine when I was in high school. I took creatine pills that my older buddy gave me. My parents found an empty bottle in my closet, they thought I was taking steroids... so I convinced them, same as you all did, and they agreed it was okay for me to take them.

| IMPC Contestant | Well, this helped me. My mom read around and saw that for an active lifestyle (I lift and play sports, or do cardio) whey protein is the best source, and that it is basically the same as a chicken breast (she researche this on her own). I started pushing for more. A good Multi-V, Fish oil, and she started resisting. Finally, she gave in. Now came the best part. I lost enough weight to be very lean and look quite well for a boy my age (IMO) and she kept complaining about her weight and how lucky I was with my fast metabolism etc.. I argued to her that it wasn't my metabolism, it's how I ate. I challenged her... Let me set her up on a diet for 3 weeks, and if she doesn't lose 3-5 lbs, I will agree with her that her metabolism is slow, I know nothing, and I'm not good enough for anything else. End result? She lost 7lbs in those 3 weeks. Shes currently down 15 (she cheats like all hell, ack - beer, ice cream, she "modifies" her diet all the time w/o asking me) and doesn't second guess my judgement on anything anymore. I just tell her I thoroughly researched it, chemically explain it, and she could care less if I buy it. The hard part is just getting HER to buy it for ME now lol.

| Amateur | They allowed me to take whey since the beginning. They have always knew that it was safe. They were hesisitant about letting me use creatine, but when they saw my dedication to lifting... they couldnt say no. Even though they would let me take more (except like PH and roids), I stick to creatine, whey, EFA, and XTEND. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | these damn parents i swear...I think this is part of the reason why our country is fat a hell!! Next time tell your parents that 1 out of every 4 kids born after 1998 will get type 2 diabetes! Tell them that you will continue to take supps...For just as long as they keep shoving that fast food down their own throats!! Hell the fast food causes more scaring of the liver than alcohol does...Did your folks know that???? Tell them to do some damn research before they go opening their mouth!!!! Sorry it just pisses me off when I hear crap like this....

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 7 | Hey, check this out.... My mom wouldn't allow me to buy any kind of supplements for the longest time. So I challenged her. I researched and researched and just asked around. At my next physical I asked my doctor and he said it was fine and he even recomended it!!!!! Now if I just do my research I can usually take it. Right now I take CEE, prolab N- large 2, Super pump 250, Nytrowhey extreme, and an EAS MRP.....all doctor and mother approved!
