Recipes: 2 Rep Power: 96 | Supplements for Beginner's The thing with supplements is there are too many out there now and they have become more complex then ever. I suggest sticking to the basics even when you are more advanced. Cause your diet should take care of your gains and supplements just help break through plataeu's to come in the future. The first supplement to look for is protein powder. This will help increase your protein intake if you have a tough time getting your protein intake needs. Find a good whey protein supplement that is cheap and is easy for you to swollow. There are a few good cheap protein powders out there that many recommend. Walmart and CVS pharmacy has a brand called Body Fortress that is very cheap and simple. There chocolate whey protein is $11 for 2 pounds of it. The taste isn't very bad mixed in milk. It is tastes like a good choclate milk protein shake. The second supplement to look for is multivitamins. These will help intake your daily needs of vitamins and minerals in a day. Vitamins and minerals are very important in starting bodybuilding. Now for multivitamins, you don't need to buy the overpriced, overhyped crap you see in magazines. One to avoid is the Animal Pak, it is $22 for a month supply which is too expensive for vitamins. You can just go buy a general store brand that has the same as a one a day men's multivitamin for cheaper. The best thing to do is to take 2-3 multivitamins a day and that would equal the Animal Pak at a lot less money. Could buy 180 tablets for $8 and that can last you 1-2 months. The next is essential fatty acid supplements like fish oils for a good source of omega fatty acids. They are cheap and very helpful in fat loss and general help. Take 2-4 caps (2-4 grams of fat) a day and a bottle will last you a month for $10. So now you know the basics of supplements.. Protein powder Multivitamin Fish oils Later on when you get more experience you will start to hit plataeu's then you increase youe diet. But when you max out on your diet you want to increase your supplements to break your genetic limit. Then you start creatine, but rememeber: when your diet is maxed out and you are hitting plataeu's then you should star creatine). Remember to watch what you buy, ask me if you need to before buying a supplement. We can discuss cost and other variables to help select the best supplement for you. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | I agree. I see too many newbies focusing on supplements rather than diet and training, and supplements are just that, supplements, not a replacement for good diet and training. |
