Default Small wrists = small forearms?

Here's my dilemma: I have fairly small wrists, and I beleive it may be affecting the growth of my forearm muscles. The only reason I can think of to justify the wrist size is the fact that I am just starting to go through puberty. Has this happened to anybody else, and if so, have your wrists gotten bigger as you got older?

On a side note, I doubt it's just forearm weakness that is cauing them to grow very slowly: not only do most regular exercises give them a good burn, but I usually do forearm isolation exercises as well to ensure that I hit them hard. I wrist curl upwards of 90 lbs. for my workouts, so I guess I am just confused!

Your genetics for the most part will determine the size of your body parts and growth potential. Wrist and elbow size is a determinate of overall frame size but if your not done growing it's too soon to tell.

Ah. You should enjoy your smaller wrists. It makes your forearms look more impressive. As I got older my wrist grew some but I still have small wrists. I would say continue hitting them hard and you will grow. You will grow lots during puberty but I dont know how much your wrists will.

I agree... When i was younger my wrists were real small, and they still arent that big but i wouldnt call my forearms small at all. Smaller bone structure just makes your gains look that much better. :nosthumbs

So what I gather is that this is actually a blessing in disguise? Hell, if that's the case, I'll take it!

Also, just to see what all of you mean by small wrists; when you wrap your hand around your wrist, how much do your fingers overlap one-another? Personally, I can put my thumb on top of my index finger-nail. (If that makes any sense)

Well that only tells me you have really long fingers..lol. Use a tape measure that's the only way to get a proper reading.

Well mine werent that small... but sure that can definetly be a blessing, creating an illusion of more mass because of smaller joints and bone structure.
