Smile Lagging biceps

I am yet to find a bicep excercise that i feal does much, my biceps are lagging compared to the rest of my body, and big tri's and small bi's doesnt work. ATM im doing bi's with back, and i do 3 sets bicep curls 8-10 reps, then i will do those seated curls with the thing under your arms for another 8-10 reps 2 sets. Is there any other major bicep excercises i can do, they are really lacking

The curls with the thing under your arm is called Preacher Curls.

For a full list of bicep exercises, go here

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exer...nMuscle=Biceps

I would recommend:

Alternating Hammer Curl
Barbell Curl
Alternating Dumbbell Curls
Chin-Up's
Pull-up's
(Yes, there is a difference)
Cross-Body Hammer Curls

Just mix up these exercises on your bicep days.
Have fun with 'em

Maybe add some lat Pull-Downs (machine)
If you go ultra-wide grip, it can really blast your lats and bi's at the same time.

Try working them less often or not at all. Keep in mind nearly every other lift involves your arms.

Hey man,

Following on from USMuscle's reply,

Remember that the Tricep is 2/3 of your arm, and, in my experience, my bicep takes an absolute age to increase in size.

Take the advice Big Mace give you and put it to the test.

Your almost guranteed to see gains, over time.

Listen to this guy. I thought my biceps were lagging for a while too, just small arm but I realized i had small triceps. Work out less often. It seems you are doing to much for the biceps. Remember the biceps are a small muscle and are easily overtrained.

I find that anything over 2 sets of direct bicep work on a back day is too much. I would definitely consider dropping the amount of direct bicep work on back day for obvious reasons. Stick to two sets of your straight bar curls.

Man I used to have the same problem, my biceps weren't growing so I started hitting them twice a week and doing like 25sets each workout for arms. In the first month they grew 1/2 inch and definition was awsome!!

IMO the advice you have recieved in this thread is horrible. Some guy is telling you to not work arms at all, another is telling you to do like 2 sets. Who am I to judge? That might work for you and others but it sure as hell didn't work for me. I spent 2 years being ignorant, training biceps/triceps once a week, 3 exercises, 3 sets, low reps etc - What was I left with? Yea okay I had some decent size on my arms but they looked like shit, not much definition. I am all about bulging arms with veins and definition - So I knew I had to experiment a bit. At this point there was only one man to turn to Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger - I read up on his interviews and comments when talking about training routines and techniques and whatever. According to him he spent hours looking at himself in the mirror narrowing down every muscle group to check that it was up to par - If it wasnt, he would add another workout session for that lagging part and do every single exercise he could think of, lots of sets and reps. Even this big fella that I know at my gym, and I mean BIG suggested that maybe I should try and pound my arms twice a week with high volume to improve.

Hell, So I started doing it, After only a couple of months my arms had improved phenomanly. I had veins all down my forearms, front of my biceps, my tricep was more visable and an all round better peak. Obviously I had narrowed down my diet to the inch to pull this off - I would eat just chicken for 3 days, then just eat meat for 3 days, then maybe 2 days of mainly veggies and fruit - Then the cycle would repeat. Oh yea Alot of Whey-100 too.

Anyway damn this was a long post. All I can say there is not set strict rule on how to get big arms - You just gotta have the courage to try out different routines untill you find your ROUTINE.

Peace
Best Regards

Jiza, what are your stats?, perhaps you need more overall bodymass for your arms to grow. Most of us arent the lucky ones that can grow huge arms at a low bodyweight.

If you are having trouble seeing the growth you want in your arms. Try working your back harder and your bi's less.
