Default jumper's knee?

A few months back I purchased a pair of "Jump Soles", they are shoes that velcro over your shoes, designed to work your twitch fiber muscles resulting in your muscles acting faster. Jump higher, Run faster, Increase foot speed, ect. Well I used them for the 8 week program and I have gained a 5 inch higher vertical jump. Now that the program is done I try to squat and work out and i get a deep pain in my knee's and I cant do it. when i sit in one spot for a long period of time (car) my knees hurt very badly. I asked a few people in the gym and they said that theyve hurd of it and its called jumper's knee. Is there anyway for me no get rid of this pain and be able to leg workouts? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated !!! this is my first thread im kinda new to this site, i lived by sholiz before he moved.

doesnt really sound like Patellar tendinitis it could be pains do to your body growing (the knee itself-which is common). are you a young teen? hyour missing a very important factor... is it painful during physical activity? that would not normal symptoms just sitting in a car. Is the pain directly below the knee cap? if no then not jumpers knee...you could always get it checked out by the doc.

Patella maltracking syndrome by the sounds of it, caused by the kneecap (patella) not quite running up and down the groove in the femur (thigh bone) when you do activity. This causes a mild inflammation of the cartilage (stuff that lines the bones). When you sit for a while, the kneecap is compressed against the thighbone, and the two inflamed cartilage surfaces are pressed together, so it hurts.

This is known as movie-goers knee.

It is a common problem when you have feet that over-pronate (roll in too much) as it causes the leg to be in a poor alignment and the patella to be pulled out of its groove.

Things like squats that really press the patella and femur together can also be painful!!

Noting that you had a change of footwear of sorts and a change of exercsie may give some indication as to why you now have this problem.

Mostly, the problem can be solved by a few simple things:
1. stretch your quads and hamstring muscles more
2. stretch the ITB (band that runs down the side of the leg on the outside) more
3. ensure you have footwear that does not let your foot roll in too much with activity

If these simple strategies don't work, more thorough examination and treatment is required by a Physio!

Mostly it is a problem that can be fixed fairly readily and settles down and goes away.
