Default Workout Today??

Yesterday I did today's workout mainly because a mate came over to do weights so i thought i would join him. but now i have nothing to do today

but however, i feel fairly fine. would i still be able to do another workout today? if so, what could i do?

You can either move up your next workout or take the day to hit your weakpoint with some exercises you normally don't do.

ok, cool

but i'm in a 5x5 Training Routine. so would doing anything today will affect it. and umm call me stupid but i'm no good at idendiftying (sp lol) weak points. maybe you could DarkFalcon take a look at my pics and help me decide what to bring up to par

I'd say work on chest. Don't go overboard but maybe do 3 sets of fly's followed by 3 sets of incline press. Since your doing a 5x5 on your normal days go for a higher rep scheme like 10-12 and really concentrate on slow controlled reps where you sqeeze the muscle.

thanks for that, i'll give that a try.

any other muscle i can work? i'm still a newbie i admitt, so i'm slowly learning what i can and can't do on certain days.

also i have question, somtimes one of my 'friends' comes around to do weights, and he wants me to join him, so i do. and his workout is bench/curl lol and all i do is toy around and use light weight for low reps so i don't work too hard for my serious workouts. and now, whenever he asks "want to do weights today" i go, "no, i already done them" or "no, got em tomorrow or yesterday" then he starts calling me soft. i can handle it, but what should i really say to shut him up? he is bigger than me, but only strcutre, i have more defined muscles than him. but he is always calling me weak or soft for not working out everyday, 2 times a day lol what can i say to him to put him in his place?

Just tell him less is more. Anyone who knows how to read knows that if you want to gain real size you need to eat, train, and rest like an animal. You actually do your growing when you rest not when you train. Overtraining is counter productive.

You have to learn to listen to your body. If you've really pushed yourself in your previous workouts your aching body will be begging you for the rest. If you've kinda taken it easy and you feel fresh and strong by all means use the time to hit your weak spot's. Just make sure you eating enough to fuel your muscles and make sure you have enough days rest inbetween your next workout of that body part.

yeah i should have enough rest, i mean, i have the weekend (two days) before i go at it again.

i think i could of pushed myself harder last workout, but too late now.

btw darkfalcon, could you give me a quick arms workout? i would like to improve the size of these little chicken wings of mine lol but instead of it being a once in a while workout, i would like to incorpate (sp) it into my 5x5 training. thanks

Hope it worked well for you. Chest, back, and legs can be worked more than once a week fairly hard. Definitely if they are weak points. They are bigger muscles that can take a bit more. Make sure to give them atleast 2 days or so off before you hit them again though so you don't overtrain/go stale.

if i go on a diff day to workout with a freind or whatnot i just move my whole schedual up a day or change rest days around so that on the monday of the next week im back to the way it was.
