Default Why do we get excited when we see new veins?

*topic*

Old people have tons of veins that poke through and they don't seem so happy about it.

So why do we always get all excited??? When I first saw my right bicep vein I was ecstatic..... where does the psychology for this come from?

I think........Veins on a man represent a vascular male, which in turn represent a healthy male, which puts us closer to the alpha male, which is what we all want to be anyways.

Note: Veins you can see are superficial and do not really represent a healthy individual. In fact, the only veins that really matter are the ones you can't see.

Because when you are fat you are amazingly smooth and 'soft' all over. When you start cutting and you start making progress, then you get 'lumpy' and the soft 'huggable teddy bear' that women like to keep as friends, suddenly becomes a f'n MAN, and that veiny lumpy mofo can throw down on some poonanny since he's not a disgusting fatass anymore.

I adore my bicep vein. It's my inspiration and motivation some days. I look down at it, and if it's not happy and pronounced, I'm not working out hard enough.

Thats funny, but I use mine as motivation as well. When I get real cut up I start to get them in my abs near my pelvis bone, these are definitely cool in the summer.

It means progress...I remember back in Junior year before I started lifting weights, I used to do this little routine every night - I was so cute. I'd do pushups, curls with a 10lb dumbell, and dips between my couch and a office chair. Anyhoo, one night I flexed REAL hard and nearly fell over from the blood rush, but I saw my bicep vein. It was beautiful, like the birth of a newborn child

When it comes to psychology, I am usually more of a Jungian than a Freudian, but I have a theory... hard veiny muscles are phallic symbolic. Women will deny this, but that is my theory. Freud would agree.

I was pretty excited after I saw veins popping out of my actual quads, near the knee and in the middle-front. not something you see often.

takes a lot to see them though, depends if I exercised that day, hydration, diet, etc.

I asked my trainer this question today when I noticed a few new ones, and his response was "well, it's because your vain!" Funny because it's true

I've seen some of those pros all pumped up with the veins running all over the place. Their build looks awesome, but it also looks like if they even get slightly nicked at all, they will bleed to death before they could get to a hospital.
