| Pro Stature | Source: AnimalForever1 of DiscussBodybuilding.com Why do we do what we do day in and day out? We all know that the chances of any of us going far in this sport are slim but not impossible. We know that we get critized by normal people for shaving our arms, legs, ect... We are looked at weird at the store for buying bags of chicken breast and beef week in and week out. We beat the crap outta our bodies on a daily basis. We all got excited when we finally got that vein on our bicep to stand out all day long. We plan out our workouts, what we are gonna eat and when, how much of what, and at what times. We are in the gym not matter what and we will never punk out. We lose sleep thinking about tomorrows workout and how pumped up we are gonna be. We spend time looking in the mirror at our abs and other major muscles thinking about how much each needs improvement. We all hate the "c" word. The necessary evil. Cardio. We would rather be lifting than running on the treadmill with all the other normals. We like the attention we get from girls when we get looks. We are asked on a daily basis how did we got "that big". We loose out on alot of things that most other people do. Parties, drinking with the guys, staying out all night, we don't do that ****. Why not? Because we gotta be in the f'in gym in the morning or at work to make money for the $250 we shelled out on our food and supps. We have our fun though. We load up a barbell, sit down and just clear our mind, we don't even hear the heavy metal blaring outta our headphones, we lay back on the bench pad and get our grip on the bar, we think in our heads "this is what separates the men from the boys", we lift it off the bench arms and hold that heavy @ss weight over our bodys, we lower the bar with a careful, controlled motion, then as if by instinct, we explode up with a force that could knock a car over, back to point A, is the battle over? HELL NO, we go 8 more reps, is the battle over? HELL F'in NO, FORCED REPS, and we call that fun. F$%K yeah! Everything we do in a day is work toward tomorrows workout. That is why we do what we do. To keep doing what we all love, to lift some weights. To build that body that most normal guys would trade their nuts in for. And in a way we are special. We got the balls to put ourselves on the line and test our courage everyday. To make it to our next lift. No matter how bad it hurts. No matter how much it burns. NO MATTER WHAT. We walk ourselves over there and rep that sh!t out 6 more times. We take it to failure and then keep going. We keep going when others quit. Everyday we win. So, get off your @ss and go lift. |
