i'm gonna laugh when his kid doesn't make it as a pro baseball player and has no education to get a real job with...i've heard too many stories about people who do things exactly the way that guy described and something unexpected comes along and ruins their career prospects. it seems like an extraordinarily idealistic view to take in such an unpredictable world.

give credit to him wanting to follow his dreams, and give credit for trying to help his son achieve his dreams.

however, anyone remember the name Todd Marinovich? This sounds a bit like that to me.
