Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | Are they worth the money? For a long time I told myself "I don't need no stinkin trainer! I'm skelooth! I'm a monster!!!!" but the more I look around.... most competitive bodybuilders seem to have a trainer much like most pro boxers have a coach/manager. If I want to go further in bodybuilding, do I "need" a personal trainer? Are online trainers cheaper? Trainers around here are 40 bucks an hour. I can't afford that! But what can an online trainer do except make you a diet and discuss your lifting.... things you can do and get help with on a message board anyway?

| Incognito | Do you need a Personal Trainer? I guess that's a decision you'll have to make by yourself. What can they offer that you can't get online already from others in forums? My take on that questions is this. Proven experience, tried methods, education, real world experience, access to resources others may not have. What it won't give you is 50 different opinions from 50 sources you don't know ranging from a 10 year old kid that's never lifted to God knows what else. I don't think everyone needs a Trainer, no. But when your 42 years old like me and don't have time to second guess everythng your doing in your training and diet, it's the path I took and have no regrets whatsoever. I can't afford $40/hr. I can't afford $40/week for that service. If you seriously looking into one, get references, do some background checks on his/her experience, find out exactly what you can and cannot expect from your Trainer. Best of Luck Skelly. Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 47 | Skel, SKel................Your like a stubborn mule!!!! And you know what??? So was I for years!!!!!! I thought I knew it all!!!! I thought I knew my body better than anyone else. I also thought I was carb sensitive and went thru much medical tests to try and prove my theory, ummmm that would be the back up plan for telling people why I must use the Atkins way of eating. Oh sure I always lost weight initially but then nothing, and I NEVER built any muscle on that way of eating. And as you all know I am not getting any younger so one day I had to be honest with myself and realize, I did not know everything about eating right or training, and be big enough to admit I needed help. Help that I could afford. Not the jibberish I read all over the net. What works for the next guy doesnt work for me, what works for me doesnt work for Viperspit. Im not saying this just to get you to sign up with Michael, Im saying this because I know deep inside you are crying for help and you need to feel good about yourself, I want you to feel good about you!!! You have come a long way on your own, but frankly you have corrupted your body, you have TRAINED your body to not accept carbs, and that is why you may not see any more results and be the ripped little tight body that we should see walking around on campus, with all the girls drooling walking behind you just to get a peek!!!! SKel, the biggest problem I see people make is not sticking to the same regiman for several weeks, like 3 months. And you must be able to eat a normal diet with carbs and protein and fat, that is what the human body needs to survive and to work like a fine tuned engine. That's pretty much how I feel these days, just like a fine tuned engine! We all know you have the beef, you can still build on the beef stack while eating correctly and losing more BF. I would like to add that Michael is the most supportive person I have ever met and he is very sincere, he really cares about his clients, its not an act. He is not getting rich off his clients by any means!! The trainers at my gym have no clue on nutrition or weight training, I had a free consult when I joined and was very disappointed at the lack of information they know. Most personal trainers are not educated in the nutrition department, Where as Michael is, and I say this to everyone who asks me about his training " He walks the talk" I would never hire anyone who did not look very athletic, or who has never competed. One more thing.....I was the one who literally begged Viperspit to let me sign up with Michael, it took some convincing because he thought he knew how to help me with information off the boards that he had been using. On my 3rd week, when I was already looking so much better and Viper was looking at me going like "WHAT THE HECK " You are making fast progress FnF! Well the next day he signed up with Michael, LOL So it doesnt mean your a failure, a loser if you seek professional help, it means your smart and doing the best thing for yourself and your future!!!! You know a 12 week plan which runs 84 days cost 99 dollars. That is $1.17 a day !!! I used to spend more than that on a soda at the gas station, or a candy bar, or pizza once every week. We actually save money on this plan and eating the foods we eat. Nothing is hard to find, its all very normal food. Now Skel.........I will always be there for you to help support you, and I know many others will be too, I for one want you to be so happy with your self, prolly cause Im a Mom and I know how important that is, but even more than that you are a very sweet young man and some girl out there will be very lucky to be walking the isle with you someday, And Im not talking the isle to the all you can eat buffet!!!!! ![]() So there you have it, I hope you can make sense out of my ramblings ![]() TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | EME is the zenith of personal trainers. Ranked among the best in the world by a site recently. I have never had a personal trainer, and when I do compete, I am planning on taking out a good contest prep guru.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 158 | LOL FnF You are a trip! I would be too scared that EME would expect me to eat carbs :scared: lol. I actually have been snooping around some trainers. Not sure I have the money for anything like that, but I'm considering. My progress is definite, but pretty damn slow.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 45 | Know what skel? I say just sign up with EME. A great personal trainer probably gets you 10x the value for the money as any supplement on the market (and probably most of the ones not on the market). All of us regulars are theory-pros but we don't really have experience like a personal trainer because we only have 1 client at a time, namely ourselves. That way you can take 12 weeks off from worry about how to get shredded and let EME do all the worrying. You've been at it for a long time and it'd probably be cool just to not have to worry about the technicals for a while. Not to mention that Fitnfirm and Viperspit are probably making the best progress out of anyone in the IMPC. ![]()
