I haven't, but have many friends who have had it done...they all have better than 20/20 vision now, and one was almost legally blind before his surgery.

I had it done. Before I couldn't see anything that was further than 6" from my face, I was both near and far sighted pretty badly. Almost to the point that contacts were beginning to NOT be an option.

Literally 5 seconds after the surgery, I could see awesome. 10 minutes later, better than 20/20. Almost 3 years later and my vision is right around 20/20. Helluva improvement. It's normal to lose a bit of the vision you gain from the surgery. Even after it some people still need glasses to read or drive. No real bad effects from it for me, except with bright lights at night.

How about pricing or is that dependent on your eyes? I really want this done but it seems pretty expensive still.

When I had it done it was $2000 per eye, parents insurance covered $500 per eye.

Total was $3000 and that included follow up care and eye exams for a year.

The doctor that did mine pioneered the field. He help design the lasers, teaches new doctors how to do the operation, and even flies to various countries to teach. Top of the field. With your eyes, you don't go cheap.
