Default Knee problems...

Back story: About 6 months ago I fell down the stairs and injured my right knee. It swelled up but doctor said it was just bruised cartilage. I stayed off it for 2 months and it started to feel better. Started doing weighted exercises on it and playing tennis again. It started feeling the same way it did before. Went back to doctor and had an MRI. No rips or tears found. Let it heal again. Now, I started playing tennis on it again and it still hurts.

It seems to hurt the worst when the knee is twisted to either side or when a lot of weight is on it (like planting my foot during tennis). It hurts directly behind the knee cap, along the outside lower part of the knee, and along the back side. It also hurts when I fully straighten (or lock out) that leg. Time for a second opinion?? Anyone else had knee problems that can give their opinion? I don't want to have a nagging knee injury forever. Plus, if it needs surgery then I want to do it and get it over with now. I think there may be a tear in the cartilage. That's what the doctor thought until the MRI came back negative. This sucks! :bshot: :box: :bting:

Have you tried wearing knee supports while playing? You could just be agitating it.

I use one that wraps around the top and bottom of the knee. It supports it pretty good but I think I may need to get one that has metal rods in it. I'm also going to make an appointment with a sports doctor that specializes in knee injuries. The first doctor I went to was suppossed to specialize in knees but I think a second opinion from a new doctor is my next move.

How about resting it, and dosing some devil's claw root, and OmegaSports' Flex support for a while? Works wonders for my effed-up knee...
