Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | By the thread title I thought you had already crushed it ![]() Personally, I only use my iPod when I'm doing cardio, not when I'm actually lifting. I don't want to have to deal with the hassle of wires, it seems kinda dangerous to deal with while lifting, plus I don't have pockets on my workout clothes so it would be a pain to find a place to put that will allow to me to still listen to it, and listen to it safely, while I lift. I have heard of people crushing phones and whatnot, so crushing it is definitely another reason for me not to lift with it. Thankfully I still haven't crushed my nipple piercings Cardio is a different story because not only do I have a secure place to put my iPod, but I don't have to worry about safety factors and/or crushing it, not to mention it definitely helps me get through a 45 minute session ![]() As for the gym music, I have two suggestions. The first is to donate some CD's that you would like to hear, whether they're mixes or full albums, so that maybe your music will get put in the rotation. Just make sure they're burned CD's and not your actual ones Explain to the gym owner that not everyone has the same musical tastes, and while you understand some people may enjoy the current music, it would be in the best interest of all members to get more musical variety as to appease more of the customers. Another option would be to try and ignore it as best you can and concentrate every ounce of energy on the weights. I realize this isn't always possible, because sometimes gym music definitely does grab your attention. Often times in my gym, instead of music we get to listen to CD's of military cadences (the marching chants/work songs), now THAT'S fun ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | No I haven't crushed it yet but I sure don't want to. As far as piercings, I was once the most pierced guy in my high school and one day I was working on my truck and snagged a nip ring and ripped it clean out. Now you want to talk about pain, that is pain. I have since taken most of them out aside from the tongue and cartilege(sp?) Be careful because it really hurts

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | Some people use an armband, which I personally don't like the feeling of when I'm lifting, but I don't mind it for cardio. When lifting, I have mine on a belt clip and just clip it to the band of my gym shorts. If I'm doing deads or something that could damage it, I'll just slide it more toward my ass so its out of the way.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | I used to lift with my iPod on a belt clip, but personally, they get in the way of compound movement and such. I now only use it for cardio when I can put it up in front of me and watch Full Metal Jacket while I run or w/e. I personally can't stand the armbands (maybe cuz my iPod is to big for one? :special . As for gym music, I sooo wish we had some military cadences, that would kick major league ass! My gym either has WZZO in Philly or Channel 22 or 42 or something from XM. If u hate the gyms music, use it as anger and put it towards moving the weights!

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 45 | I have a cheapo 256MB no name mp3 player that's really small that I keep in my pocket. I have the cord run under my shirt so it doesn't get tangled. I've seen lots of people lift with an ipod on an arm band though.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | I'm thinking about getting a cheap 512mb for the gym. Something that i could just put gym music on and not have to worry about. I have a 20gb one that plays video/ color screen. But I would never bring it to the gym. It was to expensive/ I wouldn't want to break it. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 58 | I have the Nano with the lanyard earbud set. I have lifted with the Nano on my back (by wearing the lanyard backwards). I prefer to keep it in my locker while I am lifting and use it only for cardio. I don't want any distractions when I am lifting. *

Then on my upper arm on lower body days to keep it out of the way. Or do this http://www.ipodgarage.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2919

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | I should change my screen name to Late Post. I never find these things when they are current. I have a Shuffle also and I am a fan of the armband myself. I wrap the cord up so that it is too short to get in the way but long enough that I can move my arm and head freely. Lately I am developing a good problem to have. The armband is too tight during Tri and Bi on the biggest setting. I couldn’t lift with out it. They gym music just would not fly and I use the music to pull my focus into the exercise. There are times I feel like I am totally alone in the gym even though there are people working out right next to me.
