Default I am unimpressed by "4 month transformations"...

Just wanted to vent that.

On a certain other board there is like a zillion threads from teenagers who have been lifting for 4 months, and think they are the next Mr. Olympia. I'm just not impressed.

post an example or link to one so i know what ur talking about.

i would have won that in my anorexic days easy. dropping 35 lbs in 2 months is easy if you have tons of will power and don't know anything about proper nutrition.

no no no, don't get me wrong, the PROGRESS they make is *fantastic*

What I'm not impressed with is the time frame. No one reaches "the pinnacle of bodybuilding" in 3-4 months. Show me progress over a year, 2 years, 5 years... even if the physical change isn't overly dramatic... it's impressive. I am much more impressed by long term dedication to the sport than I am with a 4 month first time cut or bulk.

That 4month transformation is no less important to that individual than a 5 year progressive change is to someone else.

I highly (and I think you're being foolish in saying so) doubt they believe they're at the "pinnacle of bodybuilding". What they are is extremely pleased with the progress that they have made. And more often, that progress and that "transformation" will encourage them onto a continued long term development of their body - which will more than likely lead to your so esteemed 5year post down the track.

silly sir, silly.

respect their efforts, as you would want yours respected.

Very well said Dton!!!!!! Skel you are always complaining about people saying things that hurt your feelings, and those things make you step back and wonder if you are doing something wrong. Now you are doing it to others!!! Let the people feel good!!!! That is were our self esteem comes from, doing something to better ourselves wether it be a one day event or a 4 month or a 5 year. Stop being so critical and live life!!!!!

Its all in how u perceive what they are saying. Basically for them they are excited as hell because they achieved something they didnt know they could do. That would be like downing a child that just began riding a bike because they didnt know they could and they were extremely excited that doesnt mean they think they are gonna win 7 tour de frances, or getting bothered by someone who dunked for the first time and was gloating about it but it doesnt mean that person thinks they are the next james white. All in all kids or "teenagers" feel on top of the world when something like this happens. Regardless of what they think or how they feel some of these teenagers have already progressed farther then what most IFBB pros had attained in their teenager years. So be happy for them, and dont take offense to their words im sure you remember how it was to be a teenager we were always misunderstood and misrepresented a lot.
