Default How to be an IFBB Pro Bodybuilder -- By: Tom Prince

Tom said it best....

"I'm going to cut right to it. Here's EXACTLY, word for word, what it takes for anyone to turn pro:

1. Genetics
2. Busting your ass in the gym
3. Knowing how to eat alot of good food
4. Knowing what it means to "rest"
5. 12-15 YEARS of being consistent, and never missing a scheduled workout (*note: you are allowed to miss 2-3 workouts in that 12-15 years for funerals, family tragedy, etc.)

NOW.. here's how 1-5 plays out: Your GENETICS, you are born with, and can do nothing about. Numbers 2,3,4, I could teach a retarded monkey with a brain amputation.

And #5.. is why 99.99999% of the people fail.. and fall dead on their ass.

Notice it doesn't say "gear" or "steroids" in there at all. If you are one of those people that walks around saying "he's just big because he's on tons of shit!," then you will NEVER make it. NEVER!!

Steroids, GH, gear.. is the ultimate weak minded pussies excuse. Because, if it's GEAR, they never have to admit they aren't good enough. These people come up with an abstract excuse that no one can exacty pin point (how much, exactly is "tons of shit?"), and that way they don't have to admit they just ain't got it.

Notice the only thing you never hear someone say is: "I'm just not good enough?"

If the reason they mad eit has nothing to di with juice, then why are there drug-free comps. Genetics and persistence certainly gets you to that level, but to really separate yourself as one of the top 50 in the world, that is where the juice comes in .

You can take all the juice, growth hormone, IGF, insulin in the world, and you won't be on an Olympia stage ever unless you have in addition to a healthy dose of those things, great genetics, a consistant diet, and consistant hard training for 10 + years...

You can have all the juice you want and the best training out there, with superior supplements and the best genetics of all time...but you will not grow to be an IFBB pro if you eat like a little 13 year old girl scout...

Diet is mostly it, then genetics ... :nosthumbs

i beleive thats exactly the point hes trying to get across. people put too effort into blaming their lack of success on others on juice instead of dedicating themselves and actually trying to get themselves to that point.

I could care less about becoming a IFBB pro. 999.999% of all IFBB pros are juiced. Yes, they work their butts off, they diet, they pose, they tan and they have genetics, but they still count on "special" supplements to get to where they are. I don't respect that, any more than I respect the use of juice in professional baseball or other sports. It's cheating.

My goal is simple. Every time I step on the stage, I am in the best shape of my life. I work my butt off, I diet, I pose, I tan and I have very few genetics to help. But I count on me and not "special" supplements to get to where I am. I will never share my success with a needle or a pill.

In the end, my accomplishments are a damn site more satisfying.

At 62 years of age, I entered six contests this year, including two NPC, and won 11 trophies, including four First Pace in my age class (60+), one Second Place (50+), five Third Place (3rd in the FAME WNSO World Championship in my age class and four Third Place finished in Open Classes - against men in their 20s and 30s) and "Best Male Poser" at my last competition this season.

The title of this thread should be, "How To Be A Natural Pro Bodybuilder"

um...This article is about "Tom Prince" What does that have anything to do with being natural?
1. Genetics
2. Diet
3. Busting your ass!
IMO Those are the top three. I do not believe that taking a pill or putting a needle in your ass is cheating. It is open game unless it is a clean show. If you CHOOSE to get up on stage at an NPC show you have to realize that most of the guys are taking gear. I am natural yet I do not choose to compete in natural shows. The only way I consider cheating goes on in bodybuilding is if there are some screwing around with the score cards because a friend is a judge etc...That is just my take on it!!

Sorry, I didn't mean to highjack this post. I am a active member of Athletes Against Steroids (http://www.athletesagainststeroids.o...nfoshtml.shtml) and I do butt in once in awhile. I love our sport. I just wish we didn't have to juice to "succeed" (non-tested pro circuit). Wouldn't it be cool if we could all compete on a level playing field and not have to make choices as to whether or not to compete based upon a contest being tested or non-tested. I work as hard as any juicer. I weigh 150 pounds and usually include 3 sets of 10 reps of 70, 80 and 90 pound dumb bells in my flat bench workout. My training partner is 6' 2", 215 pounds and I am trianing him to enter his first contest next April...a tested show. He came to me after the muscle heads at the gym kept hitting on him to take his training to the next level with some "special" supplements that they could help him get. He said, No Way! He wants to be a State Trooper or work for the Secret Service...he has a daughter and a child on the way...I am going to help him become a Natural Pro.
