| Amateur | I've seen way to many. Just found this on the net. Gym Rats You can spot these morons the very second you walk into a gym. How many there are varies depending on what gym you're at, but if you visit a place like Bally's, they occupy about 50% of the place. Here's what to look for. Firstly, you'll see a tank top that shows way too much back hair and is possibly torn in such a way that you can see 1 nipple. Then of course you've got the Spandex shorts. They're also either wearing or carrying a lifting belt, but they are clearly unsure what it's for, because it looks as new as the day they bought it. Their hair is always freshly combed and has a fresh coat of hairspray. There's also a 50/50 shot that they're going to have shaved legs. If you pay close attention to a gym rat's daily workout, it usually lasts about three hours and consists of the following: Stretching requires around 9 minutes, and is done intermittently throughout the session. Actual weight lifting takes 4 minutes total; that's 3 sets of 10 on the bench. While they're lifting you'll be able to hear it from the other side of the building because of the exaggerated exhaling that they think comes with the territory when you're a very serious weightlifter. Then you have to set aside about 20 minutes for walking to and from the water fountain to see who is in the gym today. When they see someone they know, they have to point at them. The pointing is usually accompanied by a clicking noise out of the side of their mouth. The remaining 2 hrs and 27 minutes are spent talking to other gym rats or gym employees. Pay special attention when a hot girl walks within their field of vision. First, they stare at her for so long and so intensely that it's as if through mental telepathy they can will said hot girl into wanting to **** a doucebag. Then they huddle together and lower their voices in deep discussion and one of them will claim to have "balled" her. Balled is the term they will use. You can count on the fact, however, that they've actually slept with no one there, or probably anywhere, in quite some time. If you know a gym rat, tell them to cut the bullshit and go to the nearest bar, because the only way they're getting laid is by an extremely drunk slut. -by Jimmy Tango |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | i'm glad i workout at home and don't have to put up with gym rats lol i think is also another breed of people in the gym. they can be known as either a) ego-lifters b) ego-builders ego-lifters are the guys that only lift for their ego. they stack on as much weight possible on the benchpress, press out one or two reps, re-stack and put on more weight. then they press it for 1 rep and stack it back on. they sit-up and go 'ooo yeah, did you see that', and if you did, u just have to laugh. their form was horrible, they bounced, they locked out, whole body bascially of the bench. then they go to barbell curls (in the power-rack lol) and stack as much weight as possible again!! their version of a curl is really caled a barbell swing-with-whole-body-that-will-cause-my-back-to-tear. so they do the same as the bench and do a couple reps with terrible form. ego-builders are basically the newbies who want the chest/biceps and abs. they do benchpress, benchpress, benchpress, maybe pec-deck, benchpress. then they do barbell curl, barbell curl, barbell curl, preacher/isolation curl, barbell curl. then they do crunches, crunches, crunches, crunches. then after their 2hr workout, they go to maccas or something. these ego-builders are the people who want the mirror muscles you may call them. they are a common breed who occupy time, space and oxygen. watch out for them taking your benchpress for 1hr. btw, they do this everyday until they get bored and then they try something different... sorry to hijack the thread, but i guess we can turn this into dicussion if the threadstarter wants to. bascially post the common -types of gym rats, or a funny person you have seen at the gym or wateva. once again, thank god i workout at home lol

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 74 | Not sure if this counts as "gym-rats" but the new year's resolution people annoy me like nothing else. I go to the gym at the times I do because thats when theres generally not too many people there, and I know I can get a good focused workout. Now every year throughout the month of January (it takes about a month for these people to give up) theres all these un-focused, un-dedicated people just sitting around on the equipment taking up space. They've usually got brand new spandex gym clothes on and do nothing but curl 20lb DB's over and over (while grunting loudly). I can't wait until February. |
