| Der Leutnant | I've really been considering taking the next step with my weightlifting. I was really inspired after viewing EME's bio on his website. It really put the possiblility of me becoming competitive into perspective. So, basically what i'm asking of anyone pros/semi pros out there is....do i have what it takes physically? I believe I've taken leaps and bounds towards the bodybuilding lifestyle over the past few months and have seen the results that I had expected from doing so. The link to my picture thread is inserted in my signature. Please be brutally honest. How much work would i ahve ahead of me? i'd be looking to compete between 175-190 post cutting.

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | You can compete at anytime, and you know you can be proud of yourself no matter what, if you are wanting to win a comp... you really need to work on your arms, shoulders, traps, chest needs to improve somet too, the problem is that you are a bit tall, meaning the more you weigh the better.. If you want to compete, you could probably get into decent enough shape to compete this year, but you wouldn't be top 3 material in a decent comp... If you give yourself a year or two, you could probably have the gains you need to compete at 200 pounds, and do very well for yourself... Just my opinion.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Hey Schroeder, First, let me say that it makes me really happy to know that my bio has inspired you. Second, let me say that you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. If I could get to the point where I could step on a competition stage, anyone can. I was about as small as they come in High School. The great thing about competitive bodybuilding now is that there are Novice and Teen Divisions at just about any show. When I did my first competition as a teenager, there was only the open Division. I did two shows when I was 18, and although I had fun, I was so overmatched by the veteran competitors that it really discouraged me from continuing to compete. It took me 15 years to get back on stage again, because I didn't think I had what it took. Also, there was no internet back in those days and it was much more difficult to learn about competing and contest preparation. Now there is a wealth of info at your fingertips. You can definitely do it. Start training and get on stage. You don't have to wait until you look like Ronnie Coleman to get up there. If we all waited until we were perfect, no one would be on stage. The best way to learn is to do it! Let me know if you need any help! - EME Quote:
