Thanks Trick and Six.

I'm feeling good, considering. I'm ready to get the recovery show on the road.

Don't you guys give me a hard time if I'm looking a little "Kevin Levrone'ish" when I see you at the Arnold. LOL

I will just barely be starting rehab at that time, so I am probably going to lose a lot of size.... hopefully not too much.. but I've never gone a month without training in 20 years.. let alone 8-12 weeks.

I'll have to wear shorts so I can show off my new calves.. LOL.

Michael: The reason I asked about any warning signs was because of another injury I witnessed early this year. One of the guys was doing heavy bench presses. Suddenly he dropped the loaded bar and screamed. He had ripped his bicep the same way you ripped your pec. He later told me he had been having pain in the bicep when he was doing curls, but ignored it. After his surgery and rehab (about six months) be began lifting lightly again. Today he is back 100% and lifting as much as ever. LOL

Very sorry to hear that man. I haven't been watching all the parts of the forum lately and that's how I missed this thread.

Seriously, after surgery, go immediately for IGF-1. It'll let you heal in about 1/3 the time.

Thanks guys.

Hey ss01. If you know me, you know I won't use IGF-1, unless it was prescribed legitimately by my doc.

I'm definitely not trying to influence anyone else's choice of what to use... but I only use 100% legal OTC supps. No research chems, or anything else like that.

I may talk to my doc about it though. There are legitimate research applications for IGF-1, and this may be one.

I'm not trying to start any debate about any of that though.. so let's not do that. I'm cool with anyone making up their own mind about what to use.

I'll get my diet really in check.. I'll be supplementing with big doses of BCAA's... Glutamine Peptides...High Quality Protein, and anything else OTC that I can research that might help.

I'm determined to get back to 100% as soon as I can, and in keeping with my principles.

Michael:

Have you contacted the WNSO yet to advise them of your status and to ask what are your options? As I said earlier, hopefully, the organization will be understanding and grant you a waiver from having to compete in your first pro competition in 2006. If not, you will just have to earn your card again, and, you will. I'm proud of your stand on "natural" bodybuilding. We are generations apart in age, but are of one mind in this area.

Nick,

I used some legal prohormones when they first came out back in the 90's and I have used some other legal OTC products off and on over the years.

I have two personal rules regarding this:

I do not take any illegal drugs of any kind.

I will not use anything that is not legal for the organizations that I compete in.

I also will not use anything that is technically legal, but that could result in a false positive on a drug test.

It becomes tricky when you get urinalysis tested, because there are a lot of perfectly legal OTC products that could possibly cause a problem on a test. I have to really research anything I use.

Hey Old Navy.

Yes, I contacted Jeff Kippel, one of the Executive Directors at the WNSO/FAME group to let him know my situation.

I haven't heard back from them yet, but hopefully they will take this injury into account and let me make my pro debut in 2007.

I have been training non-stop for the 2006 show since last August, and I'm really dissapointed I won't be able to compete. This injury will really be devastating if I lose my Pro card because of it. Hopefully that won't happen.

Damn Mate, I feel for you!
Ive had problems with my right knee (dislocated several times), but since I started working out again, its been pretty good.
But this is something in another catergory altogether

I hope you recover asap and get back into the place you love so much.

At least there is one positive in all this.
Seeing as how you cant wash yourself properly anymore, Kendra will have to help out with frequent sponge baths

Get well some mate :fingersxd

I've been away from the forums so I'm just catching up. Sorry to hear about the injury EME. It is really unsettling that it just happened to you like that -- while you were feeling strong and with no warning. Seems like a lot of us are praying for your recovery. Hopefully you'll get the wavier for 2006 so you don't lose your pro status.

Hope you heal quickly EME, I am still getting over my torn groin muscle from almost 4 months ago. Started physical therapy, but still have alot of work to do. I feel your pain. Sounds like you did a number on it too. I heard my groin pop as the muscle ripped and felt it snap inside my abdomen, so I know exactly what you're talking about. The next month is the worst. Try and take it easy, and get the surgery if possible. Im sure you know the deal, no stretching, lots of anti imflammatories, rest, and water. This is going to take patients. Keep doing leg presses or something if you can in a week or two. I wish you the best of luck with this. Like I said, I feel your pain, and my thoughts are with you EME, remember...........It Will Get Better

Thank you for the words and advice Sky.

My surgery is scheduled for Monday, so at least that will be the start of getting back on track.

Best of luck to you with your recovery and progress also!

Not doing anything out of the ordinary. I was doing deep lunges with 60lb dumbells like I always do. Then one rep when I was down at the bottom and it happened, heard a pop, felt a snap, and that was the end of me. It actually hurts right now even sitting here talking about it. Funny how this injury has changed my life. Im starting to get back finally. EME, you just have to remember bro, it will heal, and you will lift again, it just takes time. Keep your head up and start getting into the mind set of doing anything possible to facilitate the healing process, that is your number one concern right now.
