Default Am I just being a **** that I can't do cardio 2x a day???


Early this morning I was sooooooooooooooo freakin tired, and the stationary bike sounded soooo dreadfully boring and annoying with my birds screaming in the background (not enough time to get to the gym).

Now it's 6:30, i am finally home from school and I am literally DRAGGING my ass to the gym after this cup of coffee... I feel... soooo burnt out. Do you think I will be more capable once the semester is out or something?? Or am I just being a baby??? I feel like my eyes are dragging on the floor...

A few days bro, it won't hurt much of anything. At least drop lifting, and do some low intensity cardio. But thats just my opnion... Wait a real college girl or inflatable?

Yeah you are like 2-3 hours west of albany. You are a very long shot away from.

On another note, i am not being a "complete" baby about cardio. I just got done with 45 minutes... I can't seem to pull it together to do it 2x a day though. It sucks. They always say "It just depends how bad you want it" but I'm sooo worn out sometimes.

How do you guys get the will to do it 2x a day??? and when you are doing it 2x a day, what type of cardio do you do?

I vary the intensities. Sometimes light in the morning sometimes hard intensity in the morning etc. you know what I'm saying?

Dude, twice a day IMO is only something you CAN do if you have some equipment at home that you can do early in the morning or late at night, and also do some cardio post-weights.

LOL..

During contest prep, I drag my happy ass out of bed and leave my house for the gym bright and early at 4:50 AM.

I do 30 mins on the Stairmaster, then head home, eat, shower and go to work all day.

After work ( 5:00 PM ) I come home, eat my pre-workout meal, head to the gym, do my weight training, and then hit 45 mins more on the treadmill.

I do the same thing all five workdays of the week, and also on Saturday ( but not quite as early ) for 12 weeks straight.

Both of the competitors who I've been training ( Andrea and David ) who I posted recent pictures of, also do the same thing. They both have to drive to the gym too.

Skel.....Andrea is a girl.. and she can do it.

What do all of us have in common.... ( other than possibly being out of our minds ) we want to be ripped more than we want to sleep.

You can do it bro... you just have to get up the will to do it.

EME, would it be effective at my current level of BF%? Or will I only being setting myself up for another plataue?? I was curious to ask in the prep section, at what BF% are guys usually when they begin cutting for a show, and if they are endomorphic (are there any??) how long do they give it?

fitnfirm, I was actually thinking about that. I'm thinking maybe a 2 mile fasted walk every morning would count?

lately i've been doing morning cardio, but thats mainly because i havent been able to sleep all that well. its like i wake up in exactly 7 hrs. maybe its because i take a 2 hr nap in the afternoon. hahah.

but i dont even do much in the morning.. id say anywhere from HALF A MILE to 1 mile, and then 10-15 minutes of boxing/jump rope...

i think i only do morning cardio so i have an excuse to make a shake, then eat breakfast 2 or so hrs later.

you know funny thing... I don't ever sleep past 7 hours either? And it kinda ticks me off. I wake up but can't go back to sleep... so I usually wake up like half hour before my alarm goes off.

But... my body refuses to cooperate until I've had my fill of black coffee :coffe: evil addiction i swear...

There is nothing at all wrong with getting up and walking in the morning. It's enjoyable and will get your heart going and it's a nice way to start the day.

The thing is though, it's unlikely that walking is going to do the kind of work necessary to truly get you in real contest shape.

You pretty much have to get up and bust your ass. It just isn't easy to really get contest condition ripped. You have to get that metabolism fired up in the morning by doing some serious cardio. That cardio has to get the metabolism fired up in way that causes your body to burn more calories all day long. Walking just isn't going to do it to the degree necessary for most of us.

Sure, there are genetically gifted people that have to do very little cardio to reach that kind of condition. ( Kendra is one... she doesn't do any morning cardio at all )

But, for most of us...you really have to force the fat off to get to that super ripped condition you expect to display on stage. It's a WHOLE different level from dieting to lose fat or to get a six pack.

OH Well with the price of GAS!!!!!! I just thought it would be easier But thankfully the gym is only 4 miles away. We used to have a treadmill but sold it cause it took up too much room and we quit using it, the lazy days set in. Now I wish we had it again! We have all our own gym equipment but still go to the gym because we are more focused and there are no distractions, like the phone and neighbors coming over or whatever.

Do what ya gotta do!!!!!!!!!!
