Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | If you mean the way your "abs" are shaped, or aligned with respect to each other, nope, that's the way they are. Contrary to popular belief, your abs really aren't 6, or 8, or 12 different muscles, but rather one muscle. The 4,5,6, 8, or 12 pack that you see is really formed by tendons that run through the muscle and separate it into the sections that appear as different muscles. However your tendons happen to attach is determined by your genetics, and there is nothing you can do to change that. - EME Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 15 | Without a picture, I can't really tell, but if your individual 'beers' in your 'sixpack' are truely uneven... Then I'm not sure of anything you can do. But, if that is not the case... I'll offer a different perspective. The abdominal wall is all one piece like EME says, but there are other muscles and tissues that surround the area. In general, it is possible that some of the tissues connected to the abdominal wall (see picture) are pulled tight due to posture problems, where as the other side is loose and moveable. You see uneven abs, but actually, they may be pretty close to even (Unless your abdominal wall is truely uneven). Think about the muscles of the abdomen, internal/external obliques, transverse abdominis, and belt line. They are all attached to each other by layers of fascia. If one muscle becomes stiff and immovable from postural troubles, then the whole system of musculature becomes stiff. Because of this, the way you use your musculature becomes uneven, and it looks/feels uneven too. You may be flexing the six pack on one side, but when you try to flex it on the other side, your mind only sends signals to the internal and external obloquies (or other musculature) to be flexed because that is what your posture has been teaching your mind to do during many years of walking and standing with your 'off' posture. It's pretty common. Tell me, do you have any other uneven traits? Such as 1 leg being longer than the other, or one shoulder being more forward than the other? Frome The Chosen One's thread ![]()
