Default Sandbag GPP

Okay so I have been reading about the merits of sandbag training as a gpp exercise, and while Im not into martial arts or strongman, I figured it wouldnt hurt to increase my badassery level, so here is a brief how to.

This kind of training is amazing for building strong grip, lower back, abdominals, etc.

what you need:

contractor cleanup bags, these are 3 mil and very thick. also very expensive.
$12

100 lbs of play sand. These are about $3 for 50 lbs, so about $6 total.

Put the sand in the contractor bags and then tie them closed. Ducttape the shit out of it and put it in another bag and ducttape that. Cut off excess bag material.

The result looks like this. I did 25 lbs per bag.

Ducttape up the seems a bit and make sure the corners are nice and what not. Just has to be sturdy.

You need a bag to put all the stuff in, I used some shitty walmart gym/travel bag. Its a 28" bag with a bunch of straps and stuff I cut off. Cost me about $9.

Might want to ducttape the zippers and stuff, though make sure you can open it so you can vary the load. I did a bunch of stuff with 100 lbs and it was incredibly heavy, so if your starting out I recommend 75 lbs (3 bags).

Cut the straps off of course.

When its fully loaded:

pretty innocent looking. As a practical joke, ask a friend to carry your luggage for you .

Showing off, this thing was a bitch to get up on my shoulder but I was all set to press it. Its pretty big.

Already my neck, forearms, fingers, back, and abs are sore.
