Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 108 | shya. it's always like that. top 3 are untouchable.... it's a race for 4th, 5th and 6th for us mere mortals. The judging this year was REALLY strict. You can see how many lifters bombed out... on squat especially. A few top dogs (d witte and j prichard) bombed too... it was crazy to see these guys be unable to make a squat. The problem is... very few meets each year are held with this type of international judging... so unless you have experience with it... you come unprepared to hit depth. In addition... it's sooo competitive to be the last person in the flight (by highest opener) that these guys just pick crazy heavy openers which they can't handle after dropping weight too fast before weigh-ins. Things BBing have taught me: how to start dropping fat (not water) 12-15 weeks out and making weight 5-7 weeks out so I can train in my equipment with the same fit I can expect come the day of the meet. Cudos to BBing. It's just as big a part of the sport as lifting the actual weight. Being ready is being ready.
