Default pvc pipe and back streching


I hear alot of people talking about how they use pvc pipe to strech there back and get a better arch, but I have no clue how to do this. Anyone want to let me in on this supossivly aswome back strech

Are you referring to "self-myofscial release" where you use hard foam rolls (I guess a 4 or 6" pvc pipe would work for this) for stretching?

you just get pvc pipe and put it under your back when you are benching. Yoy gradually get bigger pvc pipe. I use a football every once now and then.

You keep the PVC under your back while benching? Yikes, sounds painful. You're supposed to just use the PVC for stretching and warming up your back for the arch.

Power lifters arch their back and the PVC I guess would act as a support. Your supposed to keep your ass on the bench with an arched back and I guess that would help.

I normally use it just to get my back accustomed to arching if I haven't done it in a while. My lower back can get slight cramps in it. Once I'm warmed up I just focus on keeping as big as arch as I can withouth lifting my ass off of the bench. I got all of my tips for my arch from http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=570881

i arch over 2x4s and 1x4s to train my back to arch bigger. I will work my way up to 3 2x4s under my back, making sure that my upper back and butt can touch the bench then un rack 135 and hold/bench it while arching as hard as possible
