Default My parents hate powerlifting/strongman/forearm training

The title says it all... My parents hate it. They hate my collection of grippers and say I only need one. They hate me lifting heavy and thing im going to kill myself. they wont let me get stuff like tires, sledge hammers, stuff to make a sled. They hate my colection of protien powder jugs(for contrast baths and extensor work). They hate me trying to make things out of scraps and old stuff(thick bar(the idea of buying 7' of galvenized pipe makes them scream) and my kettleballs.). They also hate me buying and making all this stuff for forearm work(dexterity balls, sledgehammers, formulator, thick bar)

i think you get my parents dont like powerlifting/strongman/forearm training...

Anyone elses parents hate powerlifting/strongman/forearm training?
And do you guys have any tips on how to convince your parents to let you get the stuff you need(tires, galvinized pipe, sledge hammers, sandbags...etc)?

Do you know how to get your parents to support you in powerlifting/strongman/forearm training?

You can always make your own stuff, instead of getting them to buy it, not sure if you said you're already doing it, but here's a good site http://www.geocities.com/fightraining/. I don't see why they'd have a problem with you making your own equipment, it's not like it's going to cost them a fortune, and you can probably pay for it easily if you have a job...

Umm, okay?

Why do you need to buy hammers and tires? LOL you really don't need that now to tell the truth. They may take all your equipment away if you keep getting frustrated and what not. Just keep everything out of their sight for now and don't keep them worrying.

What about your dad? Have you tried getting him into lifting, or is their no hope with that?

but he doesnt get powerlifting/strong man

Hmm...I would point out to them that there are any number of other hobbies that you could pick up if they would prefer including:
(a) Banging your teacher, I swear I have seen at least 3 articles in the past week about 15 year olds impregnating their teachers
(b) Getting drunk
(c) doing drugs
