| Pro Stature | I've gained about 10 lbs over the last month or so and I'm not used to seeing my weight this high, its 228. Ive been training just as much and doin a little more cardio. But the thing is ive been eating more.I dont know if the weight gain is muscle or what. But I feel fat, more because of the number of my weight since Im not used to being over 220.Am I just paranoid? Is it just muscle gain?I would like to get my weight back down to about 215 but im sure id lose some strength and I dont wanna do that.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 113 | i agree with BigD on the weightgain part, but not for the same reason. You should gain weight because you are at an age when horomones will let you do so with ease. Being a PLer doesn't = becoming a mass monster. While size does make ur lifts go up crazily, the ratio of BW to lift total is what matters. Check out my article on dieting or just surf the nutrition section more.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | You gotta ask yourself a few questions first... 1) Are you happy with the way you look? 2) Is your current weight/body composition healthy? Or do you believe that is imposing negative effects on your health? 3) The scale moved up.... but what do you see in the mirror? Does it look like you just got fat or does it look like you perhaps added some muscle onto your frame? 4) When you weighed in at 228, were the conditions the same as when you weighed in at 220? i.e., maybe you weighed in at 220 in the morning time before you had a chance to load yourself up with food and water, and then maybe you weighed yourself in at 228 at a later time in the day when you were very hydrated and had many meals inside of you. This will account for a significant change in your bodyweight... you can store quite a bit of water at 220 (water weight is not a bad thing, just something to take into consideration when comparing scale numbers) |

| Amateur | Yeah i pretty much agree with them... Weight will come with PLifting... when your strength training your building muscle and burning fat... Although you probly know this dont eat b4 bed try n do your meals b4 the workout and after i dont mean eat right b4 and right after i mean eat ur meals and use the energy from your meals for your workout then the meals afterwards will give energy to help heal and grow =) im not 100% sure this is accurate but its been what ive always told and never really brought it up with others that know more then them about the subject

| Pro Stature | Well, I know my arms have gotten bigger so I must have added some muscle. But one reason I do need to lose weight is to get back into my weight class for powerlifting.I really wanna stay in the weight class im in because I'll do better than in a higher weight class.Im just gonna cut back a little bit.Nothing before bed,and during powerlifting I had cut out sodas.Im drinking them again now so im gonna stop that. Also I didnt really have any junk food during powerlifting.Im gonna need to do that again.I can say Im comfortable with my appearance because ive never been 100% comfortable with it because of my chest.I want to cut but I cant risk losing strength.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 49 | ok but i would lose the w8t gradually with diet and light cardio. if you dont you will burn up that hard earned muscle. especially at 17, but everone learns it the hard way. so you probably will too. lol *add some cardio and clean up your diet. THis should help - think of it as not "losing" w8t just leaning out. I bumped up to 210 then leaned out to 185-195 or so stronger. however i look like im 220. ive been doing it that way for a years. i dont think genetcally i carry a lot of water like everyone else. so on a scale i am lighter than someone with simalar BMI good luck

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 7 | You need to monitor yourself in the mirror, that will tell you is it good or bad weight...don't fall to the old saying that that PL's must be big and fat to be strong...more and more you see guys these days in pretty good shape and damn strng and its healthier too. As for your cardio, I personally don't like running...ill use a fast walk on a treadmill with a good incline or get on the stepmill...that will burn your calories better than anything. |
