Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 3 | Every olympic lifter has a slightly different routine, and from what I can tell, vary much more than the entirety of powerlifting, or bodybuilding, that tend to follow certain things like westside, or metal militia, or a few others. Olympic lifters tend to find what works best for them, and stick with it constantly altering the routine to fit needs. For example some olympic lifters never seperate the clean and the jerk, every workout that they clean in they also jerk in, while other dont. Many variations of the lifts Hang cleans Powerclean Full cleans Powersnatch hangsnatch Full snatch Snatch off blocks Most olympic lifters also do other things, strangely enough from the major oly lifters journals that I have watched do not do very heavy deadlifts, but do them only occasionally towards the end of workouts, and with light weight, and more often just do a sort of a deadlift with a high pull and no rack. They also tend to stay away from heavy bench press because of the effect it has on flexibility(which can be counterbalanced with stretching and working on flexibility), but still work on shoulders through jerking and push pressing. Bench press is still used in some routines for the pure purpose of general upperbody strength. If you are thinking of getting involved in olympic lifting I would reccomend doing alot of light technique work before getting into anything all too heavy, especially in the snatch. A good short progression for a first workout is shown here http://www.fortifiediron.com/invisio...opic=21439&hl= As mentioned in it, although it is for snatch the same exact progression can be used for clean to learn the technique. Sorry for the weird wording in some parts. |

Recipes: 2 Rep Power: 96 | Olympic lifters just do the basic lifts and forms of snatches, cleans, squats, etc. I believe some would do a 3-4 day split and do 2 olympic lifts to 1+ reps and then hit a few assistance exercises. A lot of different ways, I just observed that way. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | ok thanks, that's alot of good info in the link. I'm not thinking about starting a routine like that because I want to build a good base first. I just always liked watching the olympics and how they lifts are performed. lol, it just fascinates me. |
