Default Help with getting deadlift off the ground

I can think of a bunch of exersizes to help the lock out of the dead lift but cant think of any for helping getting the bar of the ground... anyone want to let me in on exersizes that help get the bar of the ground

A good question. I seem to get stuck right below my knees and find myself rocking back and forth to get past my knees. IOWs, no problem getting it off the floor or locking it out, just the middle.

Hey Peaked, are you suggesting using Sumo as a training technique to get past a sticking point or as in changing the lifting style?

Not really for sticking points, more of variety. I guess you could use it for getting past them. I haven't had much luck.

bigD when you figure it out let me know , that seems to be my problem area. i have actually dropped down the weight and started over thinking maybe during my training i had gotten sloppy and wasn't doing it properly. i wonder if explosive training would work, kinda like speed benching does for explosiveness on the bench press.

somewere i read at westside tehy do speed deads dont know how much itt help but its worth s try

I don't know but I guess more core work. Do more ab work and lots of lower back work. And try out the speed deadlifts too.

*Use lighter weight and/or just work on the technique a bit. Most ppl I observe dont sit back/down far enough from the floor.
*Try diff grips and stance.
*Make sure you get a good stretch of the lower back
*Try off blocks (deadlift stand)
*Get a friend to critique you.
