wow. is the grip he used just for better grip? he put one palm facing towards him, one palm facing away from him...

That is a standard PL grip for doing DLs. Yes, it does improve your ability to maintain your grip.

Most people use that grip (though I am not sure what to call it). I use it, for some reason it helps me hold onto the bar longer lol.

It really does help I have been doing deads that way for a couple yrs now. I rotate the grip not sure if it makes a difference though.

Its really which ever is the most comfortable for each person. I grip rt hand facing palm out and lft facing palm in.

That is the most comfortable for me but I figure I am training more equal by switching it up... could just be in my head..

I prefer using a double overhand grip as much as possible, but a mixed grip helps keep the bar from rotating out of your hands.

Powerman is that about how they all lift that much weight?
I try to stand up while taking the weight with me letting my legs do more work. During the lift I am thinking push rather than pull though.
