I'm pretty sure that looked like 200 lbs loaded on the bar, not 225 lbs.

I'd never really heard of endurance lifting like that...is it pretty popular or no?

I was reading how some college football player in my area hit the schools record for 225x21 for bench. Impressive yes, but they were touting this like it was some impossible feat. I'd rather know how much he can squat.

When I was 22 years old at my college I did 225x39. The record was 40 or 41 reps, I can't remember. Neither one of us were drug free either.

And this was in the mid 1980s.
