I think people are taking the meaning of reps too seriously. It is something fun for members to play with. It adds intrigue to the site. How many people at bb.com would stop posting there if the rep system was taken away?

Why can't we design a newer, better rep system that everyone can enjoy and get along with?

I'm not gonna vote because I'm really on the fence.

I kinda hoped the April Fools rep system would be kept for at least a couple of weeks. Even though people had stupid rep powers it was kinda fun. Also, I think after the novelty wore off and people started taking it more 'seriously' it would've been an interesting experiment.
