A system like this has it's high points, I agree.

But Carlos, as often as we see eye to eye on things, I just don't agree here. certainly, nothing personal.

Although this is designed to increase quality posting, I feel like there is too big of a risk of jeopardizing the "purity" that this site has.

One of the first things I said when I joined here is that it seems that the members here are of a higher quality than on many other boards. I just feel like that should be enough. Board members who support one another is what this should be about.

I guess im just paranoid of the more "commercial feel" on a board that I feel is special because it lacks the commercial feel. I think every effort should be made to preserve this.

Again, nothing personal, and I am sure that the mods here will make a decision that is best for the common good.

Just felt like I had to say what I feel on the subject.

You have good points.. and the Mods and Admin will always try to do what is best for the members here.. We are always looking to better the site.. and make it more interesting.. and I think that is all that this system is trying to do.. and I am not saying we are going with it.. or not.. and I am not going to say if we do.. we will use every point.. but I think the structure of it is a good idea..

I like the post ranking system, but I feel things like a certain status should be earned through mods/admins votes or by members to upgrade to a new status. Can't wait till it's up.

yea, its not like i think it's a terrible idea. and im certainly not saying "if you implement a system like this, I will never return, and I will tell everyone i know to stay away".

Number one: this forum isn't going to miss one member that much. It got along just fine before I joined up here, and obviously doesn't need me.

Number two: I'm really not that influential here anyway, as I still have a ton to learn myself.

number three: I like it here.

I just said what I did because I felt like it needed to be taken into consideration. If a system like this is implemented, that is absolutely fine, and I have no problem with it. Again, just felt like certain things needed to be addressed.

I totally understand... and agree that it all needs to be thought about before doing anything.. and I disagree.. you are needed around here.. I enjoy reading your posts... and just because you have a lot to learn.. is one of the reasons that you are needed here.. and everyone can always help out someone..
