I've been getting the word out, many others have done the same...and it WORKS! The guest registers and then LEAVES!
They see that the activity level is poor and decide to go elsewhere.
Look around, there are many members with less than 10 post that are no longer active members.

We need a motivation, not just an invitation.

You have a point there..

There is no harm in trying your system, if it doesn't work out it is easy enough to change things back.. So it can't hurt.

Almost the same way you guys determine the status of a "silver" or Gold" member. A great idea would be to have one moderator to have that specific job. Monitor and review every post made by a member to is about to increase rank. Make sure they are not "crappy", "useless" and "worthless" post. That would be the job and purpose of a SECURITY MODERATOR.

This is not final, it's just I name I thought would fit the job.

the higher the numbers the more of a motivator it will be, and the more of an acomplishment once you finaly make it....

Another point to make, and to handle the post whoring issue, is that the post count would make a member ELIGIBLE for the new status.

The admin/mod team would still have to approve their status change based on the overall quality of their contributions.

I like the system though. Similar to the system at another site I visit a lot, and not "reps".

This system would truly reward and recognize the best members for their contributions, not give them a silly meaningless number by their name.
