Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | To become the creature every single person on this board wants to become, we must lift ,and i quote, "the heavy ass weights" Lifting 3,4,5,6 times a week is no walk in the park. We leave the gym exhausted, drained and beaten. Then there's the soreness, The diet, The recovery time, and The Next Session we have to look forward to. For us to wake up the day after a heavy Leg, Back and Chest day and still have the drive to go to the gym is the key for our succsess. This all comes down to Motivation. This simple word, decides whether we get up in the morning and work our ass off or stand around and watch people pass you on the road to that beast you seek. In this article i will highlight a number of motivational factors that we all need to keep going and lifting the true way. Self acceptance:- When you wake up in the morning, you look in the mirror, right? Next time look at yourself and think im good but could be better. Don't take the view of a pessamistic person. Just think to yourself the difference between you and the animal inside you that's bursting through your skin. Think to yourself how you are going to achieve that figure you strive for, and go to the gym and tear your muscles appart. Music:- Many people, on a number of boards, really emphasise the importance of listening to music before you enter the gym. Im not one of them. I dont listen to music before i go in the gym, i stay focused and calm, but if that's what gets you pumped. Blast that stuff in your ears and prepare yourself for a battle. Side note: to the people that say and laugh at other people for the music that gets them pumped, Shut The ***** Up and lift. Goals:- Here's many peoples downfall. For someone who benches 200lbs and then say's that their goal is to bench 250lbs is not going to happen overnight. It takes months to prepare your body for that, it takes time and patience. So for me id advice you to have one Long-Term Goal and a number of Short-Term goals that lead up to it. Remeber your Goal has to be ATTAINABLE and Realistic, this way your improving yourself and tasting the sweet flavour of success. Videos/Pictures:- For my background, on my desktop, i always have a motivational picture. This way i have a clear image of what i need. I highly recommend making a file on your PC and fill it with pictures of Bodybuilders. As far as the videos go go to amazon.com and there's a pile there at a very good price. To see some of the best pick the weights of the floor with grit and spit is unbelivable. This stuff is guranteed to get you pumped. Role-Model:- There's nothing wrong with a professional role model. We all have them. Ronnie Coleman, Dexter Jackson, Lee Priest, Jay Cutler ...... the list is endless, but also try to find a guy at your gym who you feel almost envious towards because of his physique. This inspires you to lift to surpass this guy and stamp your authority. So there it is. Some of the factors that we must take into consideration to lift more and more. Obviously this isn't the be all and end all. There's many other factors such as Family/Friends, Your Community and blah blah blah. Remember without motivation the routine may as well go out the window. This is why bodybuilding is such a demanding sport as everything must work together otherwise there's no point in your ass walking into the gym. So lift Hard, Lift Smart and Stay Motivated.
