Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | Thanks guys!!! I'm really proud of myself. It just sucks that this kind of conditioning is fleeting and corresponds with decreased strength and energy. It's like fall foliage, you have to enjoy the scenery while it looks pretty, so I spend a lot of time in the mirror and taking pics. After this, it's bulking time for a LONG time and keeping lean this go around, 12% or below. I'm never cutting for 8 months straight ever again.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | Thanks for the vote of confidence Skel. Honestly, where I place in the IMPC is not a big concern, I am just enjoying the pride I have in what I'm accomplishing and if I do well in the contest that's icing on the cake. My mind is more concerned with the different foods I'm going to eat during my post-IMPC binge. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 162 | How much strength have you lost madman? One of my problems with cutting is that since I'm weak to begin with, I get discouraged if i see my lifts coming down too much.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | Yeah, the details of the exact diet EME has me on I can't give out. What I can tell you is that if you have a good contest prep plan (obviously, I can highly recommend working with EME as my results have been awesome. Layne Norton's article on bb.com is also a very good plan that lots of people have used for great results) the main thing that is going to decide your success is how stringent you are with your adherance to it and providing yourself enough time to lose the necessary fat. Underestimating how much fat you need to lose is a very common mistake for first time competitors. I made a good decision to just cut for the entire IMPC and while I think I will hit the best condition achievable considering where I started from, I will not be in the absolute best condition possible. I would need another 2-3 weeks to hit the point of seeing glute striations and such. Don't underestimate how much cardio you need to do either. Right now, I'm doing 30 minutes every am and another 45 minutes every pm after my lifting. I do that 5 days a week, and on leg days I just do the 30 minutes am, no cardio after legs because you can barely walk after an EME contest prep leg workout. Skel, my rep schemes are mostly in the 12-15 range and I'm using supersets, drop sets and such that I can't really say how much strength I've lost off my typical 5-8 rep routine. I haven't lost a ton though. I'd guess my lifts may have decreased 10%, but they are much more impressive now that I weigh 50 lbs less. The lower weights and higher reps have really allowed me to tweak the hell out of my form. My next bulk is gonna be off the hook.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 162 | That's very interesting madman. I might have to join you in high rep high cardio land.... last time I tried I burnt myself out though. I see how far you've come and I realize just how bad I've short changed myself. Sure I'm 235lbs... but I'm a lumbering war beast with no definitition unless I flex. You are looking GREAT. The only thing that scares me is (obviously no offense) how small you are. I start seriously freaking out when I start seeing my lifts drop and my muscles shrink... but look at the end result, you're shredded. You are the man. Sure you had EME's plan to follow, but YOU are the one who followed it. I am very impressed bro.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | Yep, I am not very big anymore, but I knew getting shredded was the more difficult side of the equation so I needed to do that before I worried about getting bigger. Getting bigger I know how to do, but I really wanted to set a foundation where I can bulk now from a very lean state and better control my fat gain. Before I cut down, I looked fairly buff while clothed and had impressive size, people would comment on my being big and I was at 193 lbs at 5' 7", but I kept my shirt on at all time. Now, I only look impressive naked or in the tightest of shirts. I wear under armour at the gym and I get lots of looks from the ladies, looks like "Uck, look at those gross arm veins on that guy!!"... LOL. Some ladies appreciate vascularity, but some do think it's nasty. Feeling beat down and exhausted is just part of the game. It's all about just continuing to do what you've got to do even when you feel like you want to break down; that's no exaggeration.
